Guest guest
Hi,Just wanted to ask if anyone's child has recently been asked to get abooster for polio, diptheria and tetanus. It looks like one of thosevaccination projects underaken nationally within schools. My 14yr NTdaughter has been sent home with a notice of these boosters from theMilton Keynes PCT. I'm not eager for her to have it and just wanted toknow how everyone else has dealt with this, can these be got as singlevaccinations and if so any risks to them??TIAemily Actually I've just noticed that there is also MMR booster notice (attached / hidden!!?) at the back of the DPT form. Would they give the two sets of boosters on the same day??? >> > Hi,> > Just wanted to ask if anyone's child has recently been asked to get a> booster for polio, diptheria and tetanus. Guest guest
You don't have to have any of them. The form must ask for your signature. Guest guest
Sounds like more money making ideas from pharmaceutical companies to me. I have a written letter to our Dr stating that my boys are not to have any more vaccinations, with a copy given to the school. Guest guest
I would keep your daughter off school that day, I always remember reading a post a while ago, whose son got vacccinated when the mum requested they were not given any jabs. Guest guest
My eldest (stroppy 16 yr old boy) was recently asked to be vaccinated at school even though we had declined the request form. He said to them that if they vaccinated him his mother would sue them! They left him alone. Guest guest
I seem to remember reading that the child of the mum who refused permission to have him/her vaccinated was non-verbal. It made my blood boil to read that. Makes me want to keep Tom off school, not just on vaccine day, but forever!!! Guest guest
Just a warning about single vaccines. Although Eddie had early onset autism from his baby vaccines (and we didn't realise) it was a *single* shot measles vaccine not the multi-MMR that destroyed everything that was left of his health and he lost the few skills (like waving bye bye) that he did have. Guest guest
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and sharing how you deal with this. I do remember the story of that boy! I will certainly ask my DD to yell, scream and scratch who ever comes near her with that needle (LOL). Unfortunately can't keep her off school she is very anxious about missing school and having to catch up on 1 days work (can you believe that!!! I would have grabbed at any opportunity for a day off school). emily xx > > > > > > In a message dated 04/10/2007 17:42:41 GMT Standard Time, > > larissahawk@ writes: > > > > I would keep your daughter off school that day, I always remember > > reading a post a while ago, whose son got vacccinated when the mum > > requested they were not given any jabs. > > > > > > > > >>Yes, my boys have been taught to say " get away from me with that > needle or > > my mum will sue you " since they were 4 and 5 years old. > > > > DT at 14 years is part of the national schedule and usually given > at school > > in year 9 or 10 > > > > Mandi x > > >
