Agreed. And if they’re trying to say they will pay 80% of the comp fee schedule, or 80% of the amount you charge the public, then ORS 742.525 and Strawn v Farmers (http://www.publications.ojd.state.or.us/Publications/A131605.htm) say they can’t do that and they may open themselves up to a class action. I heard somewhere that ASHN sold contracts to GEICO and that all ASHN contracted doctors would have to take the ASHN prices from Geico. Could this be the problem? Or is it even less than ASHN pays?

Thought you might all like to hear the result of the phone call to Geico re: 80% payment on MVA Patient... And thanks so much Hill and Vern for your replies!

Apparently, this is a Florida Rated Claim and they shouldn't have paid anything as she was not in Florida and in an uninsured car at the time of the accident. "They will not be able to pay anything on any further claims".

Guess I won't be billing them if she returns and be satisified with the 80% (suddenly that's not sounding so bad) :-)))
