Guest guest
Hi , we are just coming to the end of 3 months of MB12 shots - we too saw a small improvement in the beginning followed by several weeks of feeling that we were going backwards, lots of stimming, loss of some verbal sounds and return of other behaviours like constantly undressing, etc. Having said that, we are now suddenly getting him showing an interest in playing with his sister and other children - taking her/their hand and leading them to the trampoline for the first time ever! He seems to be communicating his emotional state more easily. Also his verbal sounds have suddenly increased and he is making more vowels and other sounds that are new. He is joining in with EIEIO in 'Old Mc' and lots of other 'little things' that are huge for us, so I would say to you, stick with it - the last few weeks have been very exciting here, we are literally seeing something new nearly every day, yet 6-8 weeks ago I felt like I was back to square one, My little one is 4 by the way, Mel :-)
Guest guest
Hi all, To share our experience. We are on week 8 of MB12 jabs. We didn't see too much at first but then N seemed a bit vague again at about week 6. This is an extract from my diary dated 28/7/07: Failed to look up at dad when he came home from work Doesn't look up when name called at all anymore Doesn't smile anymore Refuses to sign words anymore Running around in the dark in bedroom throwing toys at walls Back to humming/eeeing sounds Twitched and jerked when asleep Slept from 11 - 3 am and up at 5am Things gradually improved over the following weeks. This is extract from 1/9/07: I said 'I love you' Nic said 'ba ba boo'(looking straight into my eyes) Nic in garden, I tapped on the kitchen window and N looked up and waved (Never done this before) Mem is now baba and not muma Walked round the park holding my hand. No buggy. No attempting to get in with the ducks... Nic has gone from being totally mute 6 months ago to clearly saying mumma, baba, up, open. He signs a few words too. And has started making c and p sounds this week. All good stuff! Jane
