Guest guest
You can drink anything without calories - coffee, tea, diet soda, crystal lite, sugar free kool-aid, whatever you like. Here's the kicker though, none of that replaces your 8 glasses of water. And if you drink something with a lot of caffeine (like coffee or an energy drink), theoretically you need an *extra* glass of water. In practice, I think that's probably overkill. Just be sure to get the 8 in. I chug a glass of water when I wake up, during my workout, and with each meal. That's 8. Then when I'm just sipping on something throughout the day, it's usually Diet Pepsi or Lipton Diet Green Tea. So, go ahead and live it up, just get used to gurgling when you walk and having to pee every 10 minutes. :-) > > Does anyone have an opinion on drinking diet pop during a challenge? Guest guest
I never gave up coffee or diet pop. I would need to go to rehab to give that stuff up:). I do pee like every 15 minutes though, which is a problem when you are a grad student and in classes for 3 hours. Lori > > Does anyone have an opinion on drinking diet pop during a challenge? Guest guest
I had to laugh at your post because I can relate to ALL OF IT!!! I also pee every 15 minutes with NO warning which is a HUGE problem when you are sitting in a grad class for 3 hours!!! I always hope the instructor won't dock me for having to run out of the room in the middle of their lecture. I am down to 1 coke zero a day, which is a huge improvement for me! I was told that for every diet drink/coffee you drink you should consume an extra 12 oz of water - above and beyond the requirements. I get that in by making myself drink an entire glass of water before I can " reward " myself with a coke zero....and I plan my coke zero just like I do my food. Tomorrow is day 19! I've eaten 100% clean this week, following my plan to a tee - and today we hit ALL 10's on our leg workout! WHOOOOAAA NELLY!!! It was AWESOME!! I've got the sexiest body in the world underneath these fat layers! And I feel better than I've ever felt - on both the inside and out. Remind me of this when I hit that time of despair. I feel progress and I feel sexy, whether or not anyone can see, I don't care because I know my confidence makes me carry myself better - and for now that's good enuff for me. Off to plan tomorrow! I have three projects due in the next 2 weeks - I HAVE to plan and be efficient (I have 4 kids) - and I NEVER did that before! Guest guest
Thank you so much Lainy. I was going thru my last notebook when I did BFL in 2003. I was totally religious with it until week 5. I had gained nearly 60 lbs. in less than a year due to meds I was taking....I didn't realize i had to do BFL just to maintain that excessive weight!!! After 5 weeks I had lost NOTHING - not even 1/4 of an inch...AND my body fat went up 1/2 a percentage point. I still did it, but I burnt out before the end having seen NO results. So I went off the meds. But it did remind me that week 5 is pretty critical for me. So that is about 2 1/2 weeks from now. I'll let you know, cuz I'll need ya'll to push me to believe in SUCCESS!!! Thanks gals! Have a great day! Webster www.michellebaileywebster.com Re: Diet Pop? I had to laugh at your post because I can relate to ALL OF IT!!! Guest guest
I had a huge meltdown on week 4 and again on week 9 and from what I have read most people seem to be the same, I did finish the challenge but those were my huge hurdles, at least if you have identified your trouble spots you can prepare yourself for them. If you believe in yourself as much as everyone else believes in you there isn't much that you can't do. I am waiting for an op on my bladder so although I am starting challenge 2 on Monday I don't know how far through it I will get Before surgery.
