Guest guest
Dr Grim,Just returned from an outpatients visit to the local hospital. The Endo suggested that my kidneys were 'impaired' and this is what has caused both Renin & Aldosterone to become elevated. In 3 months I am to be tested (I think she said scanned) with a view to doing surgery on Kidney artery(s)? I do not recall them saying that my Renin and Aldersteone were elevated on the last visit. The Endo seems to think that following this test, surgery should fix things!Last year (October) the Endo had reported back after a blood test that my Na / K was good but creatinine was 130. Previously it had also been 123. Your response to my kidney readings back then were:a) Is this blood or urine? What are the normal values for that lab? How old are you? What was BUN? Ask for an estimated GFR which should be automatic in most labs using blood creatinine. Discuss with your Dr as he knows you best and I don't have any of the above basic information to be able to make a commentb) It is mainly state of hydration or kidney disease. Yours is great. BUN: blood urea nitrogen another kidney test. Age 58: Been on Spiro for 32 years. Current regime of tablets: 75mg Spiro and 20mg Ennalapril. Blood pressure based on 3 readings generally 125 / 80 on good days. Can be 140 / 90 as well.
