Guest guest
I've been in and out of this site for many years. I recently renewed my membership as I it was old and it had either expired or I forgot how to get in. I like to read what others are doing for their CMT. I don't have CMT but my wife does and I like to let her know of anything new. Kathy has had neuropathy in her feet and hands for many years now. From this site and others I was able to learn about AFOs and I convinced Kathy to check AFOs out. She was beginning to fall down quite often and she was embarrassed every time she fell. The AFO gave her back her balance and she seldom falls any more and I don't worry nearly as much about her when she is out and about. It's somewhat ironic but because of Type II Diabetes I now have neuropathy myself. Looking on diabetes web sites a lot of people use ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) to control some of the symptoms of diabetic neuropathy. For me it has made the burning and itching in my feet at bed time tolerable. Kathy takes it and she says it relieves some of the sensitivity in her feet. I was wondering if anyone with CMT neuropathy had tried ALA?
