One way to access your relaxation response is to soften the muscles around your eyes, which relaxes your diaphragm (your main breathing muscle),

which then begins to settle your nervous system...and it feels good!!

Try it now:As you are reading this, squint your eyes and tighten your eye muscles as if your are really working hard to see this...notice how your breathing feels as you do this.

Now soften your eyes and open your peripheral vision being aware of your field of vision to both sides...notice how your breathing feels now.

The more you play with this, the more often you can catch yourself holding tension in your eyes and face and the more you will find yourself taking easy deep breaths that naturally relieve stress.
