Guest guest
Hi , My New Year's nowadays are pretty boring so I'm with Carolyn, New Year's Eve (and Valentine's Day which DH and I typically forget) are highly overrated for romance! I can see though how it could still be a downer if you haven't even had the chance to have a boring holiday with someone else though. I'm glad your workout made you feel better, it sounds like a wonderful workout too. I think it is awesome how you use exercise to help you through down moments. Much better than those of us (me included) who turn to food! :-) Hugs for you, bridge walk+real kickboxing+slim & limber+ essential yoga hatha practice Well I had a fairly productive day workout wise. I desperately needed to walk at lunch as I'm feeling blue and was craving fresh air and sunlight. (1 hour)At almost 40 in addition to never having a Valentine I've also never rang in the new year with anyone, so time for another angsty workout - I did Danny Sullivan's Real Kickboxing intermediate workout on the bag. Love this! It was easier to follow this time and I'll do it 1-2 more times before going on to the advanced and 20 minute workouts, as I want to savor these. (45 minutes)I really need to stretch my beat up body out so I popped in Slim & Limber. Very nice!! It was 15 minutes long and was nearly identical to the aerobic stretches we do after class at the gym only held longer. I know I will use this one often. (15 minutes)I need more than that though, so I pulled out another virgin workout: Essential Yoga: Hatha Practice. This had a lot of the same stretches as Slim & Limber and is kind of novel because it's Australian and the setting is on a lava bed beach by the ocean where this huge cacti grow. She pronounces "asana" as "ah-SAW-nah" and "yoga" sounds almost like a Brooklyn accent and is pronounced "yoger". This was a beginner practice and you start lying supine on the mat stretching the legs, spinal twists, shoulder stands, then moving to a prone position with leg lifts to work the lower back. There are some cobras, standing stretches, and a tree pose. (30 minutes)So I got 2.5 hours in today, though all but the kickboxing was gentle. Tomorrow I have 2 very difficult hours at the gym, and Wednesday might very well be Start It Up and Cool It Off Express (thanks Kathy, they arrived today!!)Hope everyone has a happy new year! I feel much better after working out and am much less blue now.Namaste,

Guest guest
No Valentine, no new year's date. Ditto for me, Jen Pink Pussycat wrote: Well I had a fairly productive day workout wise. Guest guest
Jen, thank you for empathizing! I don't mind being single, really.. but there are times when single people can feel acutely excluded from fun times in Life and it's depressing.Hugs,me

Guest guest
((HUGS)) to both of you - sorry to hear your blue. Stacey, I was blue on and off for the first year after having my DD - I think it was just the stress of it all and I'm wondering if that isn't part of it for you? Having a small baby is very demanding, plus, you have three other children so you're probably not getting enough down-time to re-charge. Hang in there, Donna (p.s. did you get your Kundalini DVD yet? I remember you said you ordered the Ana/Ravi one - I think I might order some more, I find it very uplifting!) --- Stacey Brennan-Melvin wrote: > laura, > sorry about your blues. i have had them for the last > 3 months:( hard > to break away from! i have good days and bad days. > my solution is to > try new things--maybe something a little outside my > comfort zone. for > some reason this helps me feel better! > stacey > > > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
