Late CMT onset after age 50

My first severe CMT symptom occurred at age 55. I developed severe

left foot drop. I say severe because my ankles were always weak and my

feet had very high arches. The original diagnosis which took over a

year was CMT 2. Just this year a subsequent EMG changed the diagnosis

to CMT 1. I never had genetic testing as my wife and I never had

children. I think reading EMGs is an arcane science akin to winning

disputes with a health insurance company.
