Carolyn - how do you use yours with the WATPs? hi lisa!! oh, it is very easy to modify your cardio workouts for the rebounder. basically, you just get on it and try to do what leslie is doing. you will see that you can add an extra bounce to everything and therefore increase the cardio factor. well, you cant do grapevines, but i just substitute skaters or just jump from side to side, or whatever. you will easily realize what you will need to do, im sure. also, i like to use the rebounder for parts of workouts that are higher impact. for ex, endless jumping jacks done on the floor are not fun for me, but with the rebounder, i can do jumping jacks all day long. for some workouts, im constantly getting on and off of the rebounder (im used to it, so this doesnt bother me, but please be careful getting off of it for a while at first). ive even used the rebounder to do cardio coach, and i also like to lay on it for ab work. congrats on your purchase!!! enjoy!! :*carolyn. Guest guest
Thanks for the tips, Carolyn! It sounds like you really use it effectively. It came with a dvd, with a 25 min workout - basically just showing all the different moves. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do the entire workout first time through - it looks tough! I skimmed through the workout, but I recognized many moves from basic aerobics, so I was hoping that you would confirm this, and you did! Do you happen to know if there are any rebounder-specific workouts on Zip? I doubt it, but thought I'd ask. :-) Glad you are feeling better - -----Original Message----- From: exercisevideos [mailto:exercisevideos ]On Behalf Of Festival City Concrete/ & Carolyn hi lisa!! oh, it is very easy to modify your cardio workouts for the rebounder. basically, you just get on it and try to do what leslie is doing. you will see that you can add an extra bounce to everything and therefore increase the cardio factor. well, you cant do grapevines, but i just substitute skaters or just jump from side to side, or whatever. you will easily realize what you will need to do, im sure. also, i like to use the rebounder for parts of workouts that are higher impact. for ex, endless jumping jacks done on the floor are not fun for me, but with the rebounder, i can do jumping jacks all day long. for some workouts, im constantly getting on and off of the rebounder (im used to it, so this doesnt bother me, but please be careful getting off of it for a while at first). ive even used the rebounder to do cardio coach, and i also like to lay on it for ab work. congrats on your purchase!!! enjoy!! :*carolyn. I have yet to do a workout on mine, and own a few, but just had to have another, I guess..LOL...Darcy On Dec 29, 2007 12:55 PM, Festival Cithowever, it is fun to take floor aerobics workouts, with low impact mild choreo (WATP, and 'fat burning for dummies' with gay gasper, for ex), and pump up the cardio by bouncing more and jumping higherthrough the moves on the rebounder (you may also have to use your modifying smarts for some of the moves like grapevines) -- or takehigher impact floor workouts and use the rebounder to reduce theimpact so they are do-able yet still provide a great cardio workout(the jumprope segments from kathy smiths 'aerobox', for ex). hope this helps a bit,:*carolyn. Guest guest
Thanks, Carolyn. You have some great suggestions there. I need to get my front room de-presented and de-treed, and my kids away from the tv, so I can try the rebounder this week. Sound like lots of fun! I really like the idea of modifying the high-impact - I like plyo stuff, but my knees don't, and this may be a good compromise. in Ontario -----Original Message----- From: exercisevideos [mailto:exercisevideos ]On Behalf Of Festival City Concrete/ & Carolyn Visser hi lisa! yes, thats right. i do all of the basic aerobics moves on it... jogging (heels up to butt) and running (high knees), jacks, step-touch, hamstring curls, fast football feet... along with various bouncing (two feet, on one foot, scissors, jumping forward and back, jumping side to side, slolam skiing, speed skater)... then try to do some higher tuck jumps and basketball jumps.
