Guest guest
Blood K must be carefully drAwn and processed to get most accurAte number also blood K does not reflect muscle and nerve K ESP when K in not drawn or processed right. Did u have a nerve conduction study to make dx of neuropathy or biopsy?Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension I'm asking about fine fiber neuropathy that can cause burning. This is common with diabetes, sarcoidosis and autoimmune diseases such as lupus. I wanted to know if anyone had experienced this from an aldosterone producing adenoma. K was not low at the time. > > > Has anyone had painful neuropathy or dysautonomia improve or recover > > after surgery or medication management of Conn's? > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I've had that nerve conduction study about 10 years ago and it was one of the worst painful tests ever! I was sore for a week after that and hurt to walk. I had it done because I had a weak left big toe for no reason. I was also having nubness, tingling, pins and needles, etc in legs and a lot of mental sympoms. For whatever reason all these symptoms went away on their own and haven't been back. Re: Neuropathy Many years ago, they ran a nerve conduction velocity test and it was "normal". The NCV test doesn't check fine fiber nerves though. It's a barbaric test where they pass a knitting needle through your muscle and then tell you to flex the muscle. Ouch! They learned nothing. A nerve biopsy may have been helpful, but somehow that doc never remembered to arrange it. Other testing, such as tilt table, quantitative sensory testing, autonomic nerve sensory testing, thermography and ANSAR test shows important deficits for certain fine fiber nerves and impaired autonomic nerve function. Other fine fiber nerves were okay. So, I was just wondering if others experienced neuropathic pain or autonomic neuropathy related to PA. I noted that quite a few here have reported orthostatic intolerance, intolerance to heat and other symptoms of impaired autonomic function. There are some who write of full recovery from the surgical removal. Getting someone to do a blood draw carefully to get a good K will be difficult. I'm lucky when they don't start fishing for veins after the needle is in when they could have looked for one first! :-( My feet and muscles tell me when K is low. When K was really low, I have wakened from sound sleep with calf muscles and feet in spasm. I had to stand and put weight on them to get it to relax. Working with DASH and spiro has helped that quite a bit. > > >> > > > Has anyone had painful neuropathy or dysautonomia improve or > > recover> > > > after surgery or medication management of Conn's?> > > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > >> >> >>
Guest guest
I get muscle and nerve spasms. Also, if eating foods with close to normal amounts of sodium, my hands and feet get red, uncontrollably itchy and swell. Running them under cold water is the only thing that helps. A pharmacist told me it's because my neurons are misfiring, caused by an electrolyte imbalance. The spasms never hurt. I used to get electric zaps every now and then, they hurt. Stress made all of this worse. I noticed, vitamin B 5,6 or 12 caused the electric zaps. I red online that once of the vit B's causes neuron excitability. They're already excited from the electrolyte imbalance. Haven't felt a zap since I stopped the vit B. Hope that helped. Guest guest
I ve had a nerve conduct ion study test done apparently normal. It was very painful. That was done by a neuro that said nothing wrong with my face lol but the next one could see it instantly. They sent me for the test as I frequently have no reflexes in my legs, this has fluctuated aswell though.I suffer heat intolerance.I had a very bad attack last night my hands suddenly started shaking, my legs went to jelly like I'd had a massive shock, eyes blurry and was very dizzy and sick.Knocked over a load of stuff scrambling to get my phone thought I was going to pass outSent using BlackBerry® from OrangeDate: Tue, 23 Mar 2010 01:41:46 -0000To: <hyperaldosteronism >Subject: Re: Neuropathy When I had mine done, my calf muscle went into spasm. Guest guest
When I had my worst attack, after going on prozac one day. I'd also given up on my diet (eating chocolate biscuits and drinking coffee) along with sudden shock of my sister being beaten up..I think the prozac had a bad affect on me, my skin was very itchy, my jaw was locking and felt lie I was going into a dark tunnel...The night after I took prozac, I jumped up in the night 3am my heart was beating hard avery fast, my head felt like it was going to explode with headache, I was manic, my face, neck, arm leg went into spasm,My bp was 145/90 (went to a and e)After this event ..I was very pale, skin was clamy and strange feeling, I was just laying starring in a trance at home. continued to tremble for a week, had dioreah for a week, had lost 1/2 a stone instantly, couldn't smoke my heart would pound so much, was jumping up every time I tried to sleep, gasping for air. This was all after giving up on diet and trying take prozac and stress.Has anyone else suffered trembling hands....with like a buzz going through body? This also sounds like a Pheochromocytoma from what I've been reading. So. I just wondered if any one has trembling hands from PA.I was still working for the nhs, went into to see my boss and couldn't hold a pen for my hands shaking so much..Sent using BlackBerry® from OrangeDate: Tue, 23 Mar 2010 00:31:41 -0000To: <hyperaldosteronism >Subject: Re: Neuropathy Many years ago, they ran a nerve conduction velocity test and it was " normal " . Guest guest
Ask your auto dys experts if low K can cause or aggravate Auto Dys. If so yours should get better as K is kept normal. My guess is that low K is a component of this problem in PA. CE Grim MDI have primary aldosteronism as well as autonomic dysfunction (causing GI trouble, headaches, fainting, numbness of digits, tremors, flushing, I'm sure I'm forgetting some.) Guest guest
First time was : 140/80 PULSE:110Yes, what I don't understand is I checked it again 1/2 hour after the above and bp was:150/76 PULSE: 89I know I sound stupid doing this but: I then tried having a square of chocolate, (to see what my bp was when I had the hard heart pounding)I'd also had cigarette, after I'd eaten chocolate, straight away could feel heart pounding fast and hard. Checked my bp and it was:113/70 PULSE: 107 ?? Why has it changed so much, don't get it. This morning I hadn't had anything wrong, was painting my lounge, kept getting very hot flushes, sweating, fast heart rate and headache, which got worse when I was stretching arm up to paint the top of the walls.
