Guest guest
My friend has a 12 month old who has already had 9 ear infections andcopious amounts of antibiotics. They just keep occurring. Can anyoneadvise on anything that might help. >>Going to dairy-free helps many - middle son Joe was Mr Glue Ear/Ear infection until he stopped drinking milk overnight - his eye contact came back, his words started, it makes me shiver that we could have lost him too............... Guest guest
Yes, I'd also advise trying dairy free, it wasexactly the same experience with our son when we took it out - we got eye contact back in 2 days and words started appearing in 2 weeks! scary as you say Mandi. sharon x

Guest guest
I agree with the removal of dairy. CLO helped my ear girl as well. Probiotics would be a big help too. -Jenna Mum231ASD@... wrote: In a message dated 28/09/2007 11:33:25 GMT Standard Time, jane_hoganbtinternet writes: My friend has a 12 month old who has already had 9 ear infections and copious amounts of antibiotics. Guest guest
I have used garlic and mullein drops with amazing success. You can buy them at most health food stores. Lots of people use them every evening for a child who is struggling. The antibiotics are likely making things worse, as studies have shown that kids with ear infections that are NOT treated with antibiotics actually suffer less ear infections later. I would strongly recommend probiotics suitable for infants and other measures to improve the immune system. I agree about the milk, especially if a child is drinking homegenized, pasteurized, cow milk. If the child is still breastfed, the mom should think about cutting out her consumption of milk (esp if it is the kind I mention above). Guest guest
Diary would be an obvious one to trial removing from diet. Also helping child to learn to blow nose or clearing it for him/her would be good going forward. For my eldest the swimming pool seemed to provoke ear infections all the time. PLEASE ask her to delay or not do MMR after so many antibiotics as the bowel will be awful. If she definitely wants MMR get her to delay until after a period of good health and lots of probiotics. > > Hi, > > My friend has a 12 month old who has already had 9 ear infections and > copious amounts of antibiotics.
