I have seen a background check done by a licensed investigative agency hired by a work comp. carrier.

They are extremely thorough and have access to information not available to the public.

Previous addresses, previous names, all job hx. Associated with the SS#, etc.

Creepy but valuable.

The one I saw had 10 addresses and about 12 different names over the past decade. Nothing illegal about it but SKETCHY.

One might not hire her based upon that unless she volunteered reasons.

I could dig up the name for you if you want.

Ted, do you have a law enforcement patient?? They could run it for you off a license plate number or soc.sec or birth date, etc. Could at least tell you if there is anything pending or any priors.

WHoops!!!............ I know nothing about anything!!!!!. So, since you are in law enforcement, what is the best way for us civilians to get a background check on prospective employees (that is legal)??? Seriously. I was once spared of hiring an embezzler because her former employee told me more than they should have when I called for references. Thank God they did!! I should also have a policy in place for all new hires.
