Bonnie,

I too am looking into plastic surgery (some after the first of the year

but the tummy, etc. in the late summer/fall) and I am now in the

ossg-plastic surgery site with . Thre are lots of pictures

in the files sections and everyone seem very willing to talk. Most have

said that the tummy tuck wasn't a huge deal. I have already seen one

plastic surgeon and he said I should be back at work (I have a very

sedentary job at a desk) in no more than two weeks. Everyone agrees

that the drains are the biggest pain!

tummy tuck

Is there anyone out there who has had a tummy tuck that can give me some

info? I am 15 months post op & am considering having a tummy tuck next

summer & want to start gathering information now. I have went to the

Plastic

Surgery site on the internet, but would like to hear from someone who

has

had the surgery also. I want the surgery, but am afraid also of how well

the

pain will be managed by medication afterwards. Please email me at my

address

if you can help. Thanks.

Bonnie

Bonnie-

I had a TT on June 14, 2001. I will be glad to discuss anything with you

that you have concerns about. I even have some pictures I have shared with

others that have e-mailed me personally. I have really enjoyed the results,

but do plan on having a revision in Dec. with a Thigh lift.

Hi Bonnie,

I had a a tummy tuck and thigh lift on July 6th. After returning home from

the hospital (3days) I never took any pain medication until a week later and

that was for my neck/shoulders which were aching so bad from sitting all the

time! Yes, the drains were a pain in th @, but didn't hurt at all coming out

as some have reported. Overall, I feel the pain was definitely managable and

minimal.

tummy tuck

Hi Bonnie,

I had my tummy tuck done June 4th in Costa Rica. I had 10#s of excess skin

and fat removed from the lower part of my abdomen. I had very little pain

from it and only needed an oral analgesic combined with an anti inflammatory

every 12 hours. It worked fine for me. I dropped from a size 14 dress to

between an 8-12. I also had my arms done, my eyes, and my chin/face lift at

the same time. (6 procedures in all!!) Well it was all done within 6 days

of one another. Feel free to e-mail me for more questions. You can also

see my pictures on Tricia's web site.

.you are SO beautiful now it is hard to imagine you being any more

beautiful, but I am sure you will be. I hear it IS a lot to go through but

we sure have a lot of people who do it and don't seem to regret it. I think

it is the final step and you deserve the final step to be free of all of

this.I will have you in my thoughts and prayers!

Jeanette, when Mom had her mastectomy, she was offered the chance to make an new one through surgery. She opted not to do so because she was in her 70's...but no problem. THEN...I saw the surgery. You get a free tummy tuck when they do it. I was crushed.......I was ready to have BOTH breast removed so I could have my own tummy tuck!

Hello ,

To answer your question regarding pressure. When the muscles are tightened

it puts pressure on the diaphragm. It was explained to me, like as if you

had a balloon, and if you pressed the bottom of it all the air would be

pressed upwards. Hope this helps.

-I had a TT in December. I was on a pain pump right out of the

hospital for about 4 days before it fell out. Then I was on Vicodin

for a few days and then I didnt take anything else. The surgeon was

pleased with my healing except for once the drain was removed I

developed a serum pocket and had to have another drain inserted for

about 5 more days. Then I had trouble with a spot that the serum had

leaked out of and the spot that the drain was put in. It healed

totally in 8 weeks though. But the outside scar healed quickly, but I

was taking an immune booster and his nurse couldnt believe the amount

of healing in 5 days. At eight weeks, I was back riding my horse the

day after I was released from the doctors care. By the way, my pannis

weighed in at 17.3 lbs. It was huge!
