Getting started with getting CMT (or not?) diagnosed

Gretchen, thanks for the note of welcome.

Regarding why I've scheduled an appointment with an endocrinologist, rather than

a neurologist or orthopedist, the answer is that my cardiologist suggested an

endocrinologist. Recently he told me that a study had shown that about 50% of

folks born with cardiac problems also have other disorders and that he thought I

should see an endocrinologist. At the time of that visit to my cardiologist, I

hadn't yet started to question why I've been increasingly stumbling, why my feet

hurt and my feet bones are developing more abnormalities - beyond one treated

surgically about four years ago, why several of my toes are numb and so on. All

my cardiologist and I were discussing was my scoliosis.

So, I'm gaining useful information here. As the endocrinology appointment is

more than a month away, and as I'm lucky enough to have PPO, I could switch to

an appointment with another specialist.

Does anyone here know of a good neurologist in the San Diego area, preferably

one associated with Scripps Mercy Medical Group?

Peace,

Daria
