Guest guest
ACTH will not affect pain only results. CE Grim MDI remember Dr. Grim telling someone, I thought it was you, Jen, that not being administered ACTH while doing your AVS could not only cause the painful symptoms post surgery but also throw off the aldo numbers. I looked back for a little bit to see if that was you but was unable to find message. Maybe it wasn't but if so remind Dr. Grim about that also.Charlotte>> I spoke to primary dr's office today and they said the results from the AVS show no high aldosterone on either side. They referred it to the endo's office to have the numbers rechecked over at Loma . Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe what I'm feeling right now...I'm still waiting for the insurance to approve the new CT to determine the right flank pain (and now into the lower right belly area) that only seems to be getting worse since the AVS.> > Dr. Grim, what are some causes of secondary hyperaldosteronism? They've already checked for Renal Artery Stenosis with the MRA, it showed that the main renal arteries are fine, but were unable to see the smaller ones because I couldn't hold my breath long enough (I was close to having a panic attack and having a hard time being in the machine this time with the contrast, not had this issue before). > > We know my aldosterone is high, and did not suppress with florinef. But my PRA was on the higher end, of course as Dr. Grim said, I was not off of diuretic long enough (only 24 hours off of it). > > Could any of my medications interfered with the AVS? Current meds: Verapamil 240mg daily, Diovan 160mg daily, htz 50mg daily, 40meq pot chloride daily, and 40mg nexium daily.> > My blood pressure has been good since the change to these meds, but this last week I'm seeing it start to creep up again...highest so far has been 146/95, which is still good for me. But this is definitely creeping up from where it was initially on these meds at 115/75ish for the last 4 weeks or so. None of my other symptoms have disappeared though. I'm still having occasional chest pains, brain fog, extreme exhaustion which seems to be getting worse, headaches disappeared first couple weeks on meds but are coming back, as are the muscle cramps and heart palpitations (which I get when potassium is low).> > I don't know if what I need to do at this point is request new doctors because my current doctors seem to be lost as to what the issue is. All I know is that I feel like s*%^t and seem to be getting worse and I can't keep going like this. I need some answers, I need to feel better!>

Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension No it wasn't me, but thats very interesting information. I do not know if I was administered ACTH or not, atleast they didn't tell me if they did, but I'm leaning towards they did not. The cheif radiologist told me had done this procedure a number of times, but again didn't tell me if they administered ACTH. Dr. Grim, how could the htz and diovan affect the numbers? > > > > I spoke to primary dr's office today and they said the results from the AVS show no high aldosterone on either side. Guest guest
I know an Endo in LA. But let's see what the numbers are and what the response to Spiro is. Did u take my article to ur Endo. And tell him I trained with Dr Conn. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension Am waiting for call back to get the numbers from the AVS. My K kept going low prior to the htz on the diazide previously, then primary switched to the 50mg htz which did drop K even more, thats when they added the 40meq of potassium chloride. Last check was about 3 weeks ago and K was 3.7. But am going to ask that it be checked again as I'm having the symptoms of it being low again. I'm in Corona, about an hour 15 mins south east of LA, 30 mins west of Loma Hospital (where I had the AVS), and an hour and a half north of San Diego. > > > I spoke to primary dr's office today and they said the results from > > the AVS show no high aldosterone on either side.
