Guest guest
The pumpkin pie bars have a crust of whole wheat flour and oats. The filling is pumpkin puree, omega eggs, protein powder, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. It calls for sweetening with splenda, but you could use your sweetener of choice. They have plenty of protein, fiber and healthy carbs. The only trick is controlling the portion and resisting the urge to put whipped cream all over them. :-) > , can you tell us a little about the pumpkin pie bars? Are they BfL > friendly? Guest guest
Butter! There is butter in the crust. I was just sitting here thinking about how it stuck together. You could probably sub smart balance or something like that, but a little bit of the real thing used in moderation was really good. > The pumpkin pie bars have a crust of whole wheat flour and oats. Guest guest
, I am new to the group, just started BFL on Monday. Loving it so far... Anyway, I just wanted to say that I LOVE your blog. I just went to it and started laughing out loud at your writing. You have a gift there! Anyway, I now know what to expect if I decide to try those grasshopper push-ups!!! HAH! Thanks for posting it for us to read! I have read the BFL book cover to cover and am following it to a T! I'm a bit nervous about my free day on Sunday but I will make it ;o) For anyone else ready this, do you know of any blogs/websites from people that have keep up with their weight loss that had a great deal of weight to lose? I want to lose approx 70 pounds which will make me VERY small and fit! I would love to see pics and read blogs from other members that have lost that etc. I took my beginning pics and will be journaling so that I can post it when I am done to share with others... (I'm looking at 3 - 4 12 week challenges) Kim Cookbook for Fit Food Lovers If any of you have worn out your Eating For Life cookbooks and are looking for new meal ideas, I've been swooning over the new Gourmet Nutrition cookbook. http://www.gourmetnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=427076 All of the recipes are BFL friendly with lots of lean protein, fruits and vegetables. I've been posting some of my cooking experiments and food pictures in my blog: http://skwigg.tripod.com/blog/ So far, the fire department has not been involved. LOL If you're craving pizza and missing it on BFL, the Texas Thin Crust Pizza is spectacular and the recipe is available on the website where it says Download a PDF sample. It uses a whole wheat tortilla as the base, and then ground beef, yellow onion, red pepper, garlic, diced tomato, barbecue sauce, pineapple and aged white cheddar. It was really, really drool-worthy. Much better than the boring pita bread and tomato sauce things I normally make.
Guest guest
I just keep telling myself that I can NOT justify $50 for a cookbook. Can NOT! But it calls to me. . . > > > > > > > > > If any of you have worn out your Eating For Life cookbooks and are > > > > > looking > > > > > for new meal ideas, I've been swooning over the new Gourmet > > Nutrition > > > > > cookbook. > > > > > > > > > > http://www.gourmetnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=427076 > > > > > > > > > > All of the recipes are BFL friendly with lots of lean protein, > > fruits > > > and > > > > > vegetables. Guest guest
Be sure to check out our own photo section http://health.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/bodyforlifewomensclub2/photos Gloria, in the first photo folder listed, lost 191 pounds on BFL, and there are many other major transformations there. Some other people with great BFL transformations have web sites - Mina Hobbi http://www.minahobbi.com/ Pam Brown http://www.pam-brown.com/transformation.html > For anyone else ready this, do you know of any blogs/websites from people > that have keep up with their weight loss that had a great deal of weight to > lose? Guest guest
Thanks! I have the BFL journal and saw Mina in there but it was neat to see her website! I read an article that said she didn't follow it to a T and for the first 7 months she just walked as her exercise!!! She looks fantastic... To have only taken 11 months for that transformation is phenomenal! I actually bought the BFL book a long time ago but put it on my shelf with all my other weight loss plans!! I saw Pam's story on " I lost it " Her and her husband have done so well with it! Then after I saw another gentlemen on " I lost it " , I can't remember his name but he was a truck driver and I remember thinking that he had such a beautiful, supportive family and how I knew my family would be the same way... That's when I bought the book! Of course it took me awhile to finally get motivated enough. I tried it when I first bought the book but my mind wasn't there yet. I think the exercise scared me. I am overweight, with exercise induced Asthma... It scared me to do ANY cardio at all and lift weights? I don't think so.... In July of last year I decided I wanted to try running.... Yeah, me with the Asthma ;o) So I tried the couch potato to 5k and realized that with the starting and stopping, I was never able to catch my breath good. So I just started running until I was too tired to go any more.. I kept it to a real slow jog and just decided to go for the distance instead of the speed. Eventually my speed caught up and my distance got longer! In December I ran my first 5k! Never walked a step!! I have an inhaler that I use and I just plug along. For some reason in January it was like a switch flipped and I stopped running... I gained back 17 of the 26 pounds I had lost while running, from January until I started BFL last week! Well I can honestly saw, MY MIND IS WITH IT AGAIN! Today is my freeday so I weighed in this morning and was down 5 pounds my first week.. WOO HOO!! I am setting mini goals for myself. This week my goal is to REALLY stick with the exercising.. I want to be FIT not just thin ) Thanks to all that have read this far ;o) I am looking forward to a wonderful journey with you all!!! Blessings, Kim 5 pounds down 82 more to go (I decided after seeing Mina, I want to go further than my original plan ;o) Why not, I only live once ;o) Re: Cookbook for Fit Food Lovers . Guest guest
Well, I ordered the cookbook. It's supposed to be my reward for getting down to 135#, and I am at 139...so hopefully it will take a few weeks to get here. Heh heh. Mmmm, mmmmm, pumpkin bars. Found the Flat Outs at the grocery store, and I'm planning to make myself some chicken pizza this week. :-D , the pizza from the cookbook looks awesome! > If any of you have worn out your Eating For Life cookbooks and are > looking > for new meal ideas, I've been swooning over the new Gourmet Nutrition > cookbook. > > http://www.gourmetnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=427076 > > All of the recipes are BFL friendly with lots of lean protein, fruits and > vegetables.
