Guest guest
Hi, my name is and I'm 47 and I was diagnosed with CMT at age 2. My symptoms progressed pretty quickly and I began using a wheelchair at age 12. Fortunately I don't have any pain but do have quite a bit of atrophy in my arms, legs, hands and feet. I still use a manual wheelchair and have been resistant to getting an electric one because wheeling myself is a good form of exercise for me and I don't want to lose the strength I have. I'm a social worker at the VA and have worked there 24 years. It's not a physical job but it can be stressful. I get stressed out at home too sometimes because there are things I'd like done, particularly cleaning, that I'm not able to do and have to wait for someone (usually my husband) to do on their schedule. It's frustrating for me. Well I'm glad I found this group and it's been interesting reading the articles and your comments.
