Guest guest Posted July 12, 2008 Report Share Posted July 12, 2008 morning all,wasn't going to do cardio but decided to anyway doing the shortest hi-lo combo from christi taylor's humble beginnings. 5004 from CIA is an hour long half hi-lo and half step. since i only have the hi-lo portion i did this for shorter cardio. and while its shorter and easier to follow then most christi's this is by no way an easy on you workout. only at two combos she teaches add on as with other workouts and lets you watch her add in pivots and spins before you try. its nice to see that christi didn't fix what wasn't broke all these years. with the warm up and cool down stretch the workout came to roughly 40 min so the step portion must be clocking at about 20 min. i really couldn't tell between the 2 combos b/c they are all brought together. there was a dancy combo after a heartrate check but i couldn't tell if that was the cool down before stretching or if that was combo 2 she used as a cool down. it was short and not difficult so it must have been the cool down. afterwards i went with the scheduled pilates with stotts firm and fit. level 2 in the matwork series. very typical of moria's form pointers and cueing while she doesn't actually do the exercises she guides another gal during the workout for 45 min. its breaks down into (from the dvd sleeve)WARM UPbreathingpelvic placementhip releasespinal rotationcat stretchscapula isolationrib cage placementhead nodsWORKOUTab prepbreast stroke prepshell stretchhundredhalf roll backroll upone leg circlespine twistrolling like a ballsingle leg stretchobliquesdouble leg stretchscissorsshoulder bridge preproll overone leg kickbreast strokesawopen leg rockerneck pullobliques roll backside kicksside leg liftsspine stretch forwardswan diveswimmingshellleg pull front sealside bendspush upsmermaidsoverall nice lengthing stretch workout and i did feel it in my abs a bit. its been lately some pilates just doesn't get to my abs like it used to. but most advanced videos are just to advanced with balancing moves for me. maybe level 3 is more for me although i don't have it i am sure i can get it on netflix. i did have level four from this series for next weekend so maybe that will get me good. some don't like stott pilates b/c the instruction in lengthening and boring but although that may be the case it is very good routine wise which is why i don't mind the blah blah blah thorughout the work. at least she isn't squeaky in her voice or overly peppy. it would be hard to relax and focus that way. off to shower have a scout outing today with swimming. have a great onekassia ldy_solana's domainScouting for All Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don¢t want to impress people they don¢t like.-Will Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
