Guest guest Posted July 25, 2008 Report Share Posted July 25, 2008 morning all,the virgin workout for this morning was kathy ireland "advanced" sports fitness. well 10 min into it was just as bad as her total fitness video. she lacks in cueing,doesn't mirror, and doesn't explain any move or directional change she was doing. i didn't have time or patience for all this. glad it was only $1(the tape broke but i still have the dvd-r back up) b/c its a waste to me. i might let my MIL's friend take a look to see if its useful for her but when it comes to my circuit training i need something easy to follow. hell even cathe is easier to follow b/c SHE CUES!!! but anyway put this workout away and went looking for something to pump my blood and muscles today so why not amy! i haven't done an official amy strength workout in sometime. so i did went with APX total body premix. even using lighter weights i am shaking!!! i really have to show restraint with buying b/c there are only so many workouts(mostly from cathe,amy,and CIA) that make me feel this worked. its 81 min. total. most of the body parts were 2 sets each exercise but the legs were the complete as in the workout(IIRC there are 2 leg segments i believe legs 2 is part of this premix) and the core was also the complete segment as in the regular workout. yes alot of equipment changes but i made very good use and modified to make it easier for me(instead of doing a bar over two chairs as shown for a chin up modified i use a barbell across the my bench and do the same move but without having to take up more space). for body bar exercises i just used my barbell that is weighted even without plates(and WHOA did that work biceps when she puts the tubing onto the bar). the tubing work was just the killer part for me. i used medium and medium-heavy tubing. this is mostly for arm and shoulder work while she used barbells and hand weights for back/chest/legs. the core work used a dumbell(or medicine ball for one move) and the glider. i couldn't do all the pikes which means i have some work to do on getting that strength back! i am pleased with my workout today and will be glad when this "virgin rotation" is over so i can get back to my weights!!!BTW i found down and dirty step with mindy mylrea at a thrift store for $2. of course i had to pick that up its mindy for crying out loud. can't go wrong and even i don't like it i am sure somebody out there might. otherwise i have been pretty good with buying since my big trip to goodwill where i found the tae-bo 2 get ripped set. tomorrow i have cia 2203 strike zone. i have done the cardio part before and its kind of like amy's KBX but i have never done the boot camp conditioning but i am hoping to get it all in tomorrow. have a great daykassia ldy_solana's domainScouting for All Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don¢t want to impress people they don¢t like.-Will Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
