docs not 'listening' to women

Hi ,

Very interesting. I have thought this is true for YEARS. Up until about

8 years ago, all my docs were male. Decided to see a female Internist

when I moved here, thinking maybe she'd 'listen', bla bla bla.

As it turned out, she was the absolute worst doc I had ever encountered.

So I returned to male docs only, but had to learn a few things: like

writing out questions in advance, or at least notes about what I needed

addressed (keeps me on target) plus, like any other extremely important

conversation with ANYONE, I make sure my doc and I are making eye

contact when I speak.

Years ago when Charcot was just getting to see his first patients,

meaning those with CMT, he first thought the women were 'hysterics' and

did not have CMT! Let me see if I can find that paper.
