Guest guest Posted July 1, 2008 Report Share Posted July 1, 2008 kay all, now my delivery drama is over LOL. yesterday i was catching up on a ton of housework so i only did part of cardio fusion, the body max no breakdowns and LIC combo. very decieving in that it is intense although most of the routines are low impact. the choreography is a bit tricky on the body max combos but i caught on easily. might have to watch it again before i do it again b/c of the turning v-step but otherwise if you know cathe, then the routine isn't hard to pick up the cues. the LIC was pretty basic for cathe and it was repeated alot but the blast OMG. low impact yes but none stop. it was a lunge back while tapping the step and do that for about 2-3 min and you know what i mean LOL. in the afternoon i did an exercisetv.tv workout with desi bartlett. she does the prevention better belly yoga but on exercise tv she had something call rhythmic stretch. alot of body rolling and moving in and out of stretches kind of like michelle lemay. it was only 10 min and she didn't rush through but also didn't stay on stretches an awfully long time. its a great body opener over a stretching routine but i can see how it helps flexibility. a very good workout and i hope she considers doing something similar on dvd. she is a very likeable instructor but she has to redeem herself for doing a video called "better belly yoga" LOL but that is JMHO.this morning i was going to give brand new butt and more a try but that didn't last very long. i got 20 min into it and gave up. i was frustrated that she cued very poorly, she insisted on pylometrics with ankle weights and moved quite quickly from exercise to exercise. i didn't find it safe nor a video i could work with. i think if you do leg exercise combos as such your cueing needs to be better with with lunges and lifts and squats, it could cause injury in fact my knee as a slight discomfort to it.and the deadlifts OMG i love deadlifts but her speed and lack of good cueing could make it dangerous.i know i had good form b/c i was feeling it in the right spot but the rapid movement can thrown ones back out and modifiying for me isn't an option b/c then i get nothing out of the exercise for myself. so instead i went for another workout with karen voight doing the upper and lower body on her slim physique workout.i like karen voight and do like this dvd even though its much lighter then other workouts i have. it starts with the lower body which is dancy type stuff but at a more proper pace and no weights. it was lifts and squats done in a dancy sort of way. wouldn't say its a bun burner but it felt much better then rapid deadlifts with pylo lunges. the next two segments were upper body standing and upper body floor. pretty simple,standing had exercises for all upper body groups but the pace and lack of rests between execises had me doing it with 5lbs. i guess its the quality(i did have some warm muscles)over quantity(don't need to lift 500lb to be strong LOL). the floor work did push ups chest presses,and tricep extensions along with some pullovers while the standing work was bicep curls,kickbacks,rear flyes and some shoulder work. there was a warm up and stretch for this workout so it was 30-32 min total. well gotta shower viola has summer class the next two days then next monday its CAMP!!!!
