Guest guest Posted June 22, 2008 Report Share Posted June 22, 2008 Hi All, Currently, I'm just trying to get back into the habit of regular exercise so I'm trying to stick with a plan that won't burn me out. I was doing very well the last 6 weeks or so, hitting my 3-5 workouts a week (usually 5). Last week I had a bad week, and only did two. So I figured I really needed to de-lurk on this group to stop that cycle! Plus, in my head I'm much more fit than I am in real life (lol) so I'm trying my best not to over plan - which can lead to me being discouraged. I like to think I'm an intermediate-advanced exerciser, but in reality I'm probably more a beginner-low intermediate, especially with cardio right now. On a high note, in an effort to make up a little for last week I asked my husband to go for a bike ride today. We went, and I was thinking (in my head!) that we would go 6-8 miles or so, since I haven't been on my bike at all since last year. Well, we ended up going just over 10 miles, and I lived, heh. It was a bit too warm for that, and I hadn't used bug spray like I should have, and would have brought more water if I thought we were going that far. But it was okay anyway. So here's the plan for this week, subject to day switching as needed - as long as I DO the workouts. The dvd I'm using for stregth this week is Workout, one on one with Jackie. There are 3 20 minute workouts - upper, lower, and abs. I've never done this one, but have previewed it, and saw the episode on Bravo where they made the video. I'll let you know what I think. For short cardio, I have a couple short 's I haven't done yet, or I can do intervals on my elliptical or treadmill. For long cardio I can do a dvd, ride my bike, walk a dog, elliptical, treadmill, or any combo of those. Sun - bike ride, done (bonus unplanned cardio) Mon - Workout with Jackie, upper body + short cardio, ~ 20 min Tues - long cardio ~ 45 min (my choice) Wed - Workout with Jackie, lower body + short cardio, ~ 20 min Thurs - long cardio ~ 45 min (my choice) Fri - Workout with Jackie, abs + short cardio, ~ 20 min Sat - off So there it is.
