Guest guest
All my wishes to all my NP friends for a wonderfull 2010 New Year !!!!!!!!! And a very debutant question about my 2 new Aussie Wollemi pines, a very interesting old specie, they are my beloved companions at the shop and at home. For the moment, they are disguised in Christmas trees (cut Xmas trees make me sad, I put very small decorations, I promised them not to be ridiculous). They are only 3-4 years old, maybe too young for the moment to have cones, if they have to wear cones... My secret wish is that I have a male and a female, and I might have a small chance to have babies at reproduction time. But I'm really ignorant about this matter, do pines have a determinated gender ?? Do they choose it like snails, and do they need to be together to choose which gender to wear ?? If not, how do you know what it the gender of such babies before the cones come into view.. or not ?????? Thank you in advance, I do not find information on internet...and anyway, Wollemi pines are quite specials...
