Guest guest
Good job, Donna. HSC is a toughie! But fun, and I found the time just flew by, when I did it last week. I golfed (although I use the term loosely for what I was doing) with dh today. Two hours, and can I ever feel it! My legs (hips mostly) are sore, and I'm starting to really feel it in my side. My knees were complaining a bit - maybe the hills? Anyway, we had a blast, and he was so patient. We figure it's been years since I was out with him, but we'd like to do it more often. He only golfs a few times a year, so he's thrilled that I am expressing interest in going again. :-) Lovely day here - warm and sunny. The city golf course runs along the river, and it was absolutely beautiful out there today. -----Original Message-----From: exercisevideos [mailto:exercisevideos ]On Behalf Of Donna M-P Hi Everyone, This morning's workout was Cathe's High Step Challenge. I haven't done it for a long time and I now realize that this is more "endurance" than strength, so would have been a better fit for last month's cycle -but it was still a good workout and good use of my time! I wanted to do a circuit today b/c I have been eating like a pig the last few days (PMS time.....and I haven't had as much organic dairy as I've been having b/c DH has been doing some of the shopping and unless I write "ORGANIC" he buys regular....I do seriously feel more hormonal from not having my organic dairy....but not as bad as when I have lots of soy which makes me feel terrible) and wanted some extra cardio in with my weight training - well, this one fit the bill perfectly as my HR was up the whole time - so it was a good blend of cardio and endurance/strength. I also wanted to take advantage of the extra energy I had for some strange reason this morning (probably the extra food! LOL!) ! This one has, I, think 5 cycles - each cycle starts with cardio - simple stuff - sometimes using a short step (fanny lifter), sometimes not - all high impact/athletic. After the cardio is usually a leg exercise then some exercises for the upper body which are sometimes compounded with lower body. Cathe uses barbells, dumbells, body weight and a band for the exercises. Sometimes the band burns more than weights!! At the end is abs/stretch. The ab section is nothing remarkable, standard stuff, I would have liked to see more innovative core work. Overall though, I felt worked out and good and sweaty when I got done with this one.
