Hi All,

I was going through the archives and came upon a post that stated that Darvana

would be best in a 10% solution because it takes so little to have an impact.

Are there any others that would be easier to use in solution?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Yours newbiely,

Chris

*I Think* that it all depends upon what you put it with. For instance, I think

that Ylang can be obtrusive at one drop full strength in some blends, so I had a

vial of 10% Ylang. But in many other accords/blends, I might use 2-5% of the

total mixture at full strength.

I don't think that Davana is any different.

I have 10% vials of a few, Lemongrass, Neroli, and many dilutions of strong

things like Cade, the Choya's, and almost all absoultes are diluted...

Hi Chris!

What I recommend is diluting ALL of your oils to 10% while doing test batches,

and the stronger aromatics to 1%. This will save you money, and give you a

better idea of what each aromatic smells like diluted, as your final product

would be. Then you also don't have to bother diluting the finished product with

your carrier at the end. I purchased a ton of dram sized dropper bottles and,

using a precision scale, made each of my oils to a 10% dilution in alcohol (or

whatever carrier you use). Some of the stronger or very expensive oils I also

dilute to 1% - oakmoss, orris root, patchouli, vetiver, cade, choyas, davana,

neroli, some of the spices, seaweed abs, etc. Any oil that in your estimation is

more powerful than the norm should be diluted down more than your regular

dilution in order to provide you with more control. You will quickly find out

which oils these are as you work with them.

Best of luck and happy blending!

Amy
