Guest guest
Tammy, I was also heartbroken when my 7 year old daughter was diagnosed. I now know how my mother felt. I think the guilt is always just below the surface. Sometimes I look at her and CMT is the furthest thing from my mind. Then other times, it slaps me in the face. One thing that helps me is knowing that I have !never! blamed my mother for my CMT. If I feel that way, then my daughter will do the same. CMT does make life harder, but it has also made me who I am. It has made me more sensitive to others feelings. I can honestly say that I whole-heartedly try to treat others the way I want to be treated. I have done my best to instill that in my children also. Who knows, if it weren't for CMT, I might have been a very sad, unhappy person that could never find peace. I'm glad you have joined the group. You won't regret it. We are always here! Best Wishes, in Virginia

Guest guest
Thanks, those are good suggestions. I am feeling really stressed out about everything my soon has been exposed to or is still being exposed to. Learning about all of this for the first time is really overwhelming! Guest guest
Dear , For years I thought my son was the only one, until I enrolled him in a special class for a while. & nbsp;We ended up home-schooling eventually. & nbsp; We had been told & nbsp;he was the unlucky 1:1,000,000. Suddenly we were meeting lots of parents who had similar stories! That stupid figure is plucked out of the air. When & nbsp;I argued against the illogic of such a figure, it was changed to 1:1,000,000 DOSES! & nbsp; Liars! & nbsp; It still didn't account for the numbers we were seeing. I heard of 2 mothers who were each told by the very same dr, that her injured child was the only one he had ever encountered. I wonder how many other parents were told that. Those 2 mothers eventually met through their common interest. I hope they confronted that dr about his lies. & nbsp; How grateful I am for the internet. It has opened so many doors and there is so much knowledge to be gained from wonderful people like Sheri. & nbsp; Alas, it's not the lonely path it used to be - it just seems to get worse, more and more injured babies. & nbsp;At last people are waking up. & nbsp; Best wishes, Maracuja & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; From: & lt;lvmy2kats@... & gt; Subject: Re: Parental guilt Vaccinations Date: Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 8:29 AM It is overwhelming when you first start learning about this. Guest guest
Someone in this group (or perhaps another one I'm in) posted a message recently w/a video weblink on vaccines. I believe I recall that it said drs are taught to say " It's one in a million, " when something goes wrong. A cya thing or throw the parent off the track thing. Guest guest
Well, they've had a lot of damned practice at lying - it was in the 1970's and 1980's! They still do it? I haven't heard it for a long time. I thought it was because of the overwhelming number of autistic children - can't really miss them nowadays. & nbsp; I used to ask for references for that figure. Guest guest
I have been researching this for about 8 years now. And there are more and more parents learning of the dangers every day. And there is more and more supporting evidence that vaccines cause harm. I am saddened by the fact that many only learn of the dangers, once a child has experienced damage. Then on top of it, the parents feel guilty that they are responsible. Nobody should feel responsible, when they are only trusting a person, who is in a position that requires this trust. The brainwashing that has been going on for centuries has been so efficient, that even some doctors truly think that vaccines are life saving. Their hypocratic oath suggests to us that we can fully trust them with our lives and our childrens. Unfortunately this is not true. Then you get the parents that refuse to do research, even when the facts are presented to them. They stubbornly refuse to admit there are grounds to distrust vaccines. I find it hard not to hold these types responsible for a big part of the problem. Mainly that the majority of society just can't seem to see the basic common sense of it all. Vaccines cause harm. There are enough testimonies on this list alone, to support that fact. I just wish that those innocent parents were informed of the dangers before any vaccinations. At least those who have any logical thinking, will be able to evaluate the dangers before making a mistake. My doctor never told me anything more than, my child may get a minor headache, or possibly redness and swelling at the site. I was even mis informed enough to give my child a half dose of baby panadol before the appointment. Thankfully, I then started to do my own research, and found out the truth. I hope my oldest daughter hasn't suffered any damage. I sometimes wonder, because she is a scatterbrain. But that is all that I can see as possible damage. She is otherwise super healthy. She was vaccinated up to 2 years. I have only taken her to a doctor once since then. She had fifths disease or something, and just wanted a diagnosis. Thankfully I have a doctor who allows me to go the alternative route. He was great with me when I was suffering post natal. Gave me great advice, recognising the fact I was not interested in medication. And referred me to a psychologist I could see at no cost. He is South African. Coming from a third world country, makes me wonder if he has experiences that have made him sit on the fence, as he seems to do. This doctor is also great with my grandfather. And that is no mean feat, believe me. My grandfather can be difficult. Unfortunately he wasn't the one I saw when I had my first child. I kind of think that he would have been more forthcoming with the dangers of vaccination, before the event. But even after all that, I still can't say I would trust him with our lives. Not knowing what I know now anyway.
