I would be too tired to make cakes and stuff to sell though. I'm totally worn out just getting the stuff out there and putting it back. I guess if you prepared ahead that would be better. I wish you luck with your sale. I'll have to keep that in mind about the cakes for next time. ) Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. Guest guest Posted May 2, 2008 Report Share Posted May 2, 2008 yep michelle, we are hoping this will help a little bit with sales. i know the economy sucks and ppl hate spending money but a yard sale is a hidden secret of mine for many moons now. yard sales,thrift stores, and hand me downs have always been my favorite ways to shop LOL. i did yellow cakes with either peanut butter or chocolate icing and some have reeses cups on them or reeses pieces or just plain icing. they look good and smell good so hopefully will want to spend $5 with us for a fresh cake instead of more at the grocery store for a pre-frozen cake LOL. i handed out so many flyers and hope other parents did the same. our troop is in dire need of money b/c the boy scouts shorted us over a $1000 and we have to wait until THEY get money before we can see that so its up to us as a team to get money for zoo and washignton DC trips. i think the kids love these exurcsions even though its meant as an educational way of getting badges.DC is the big trip b/c we have to actually rent a bus instead of having a church donate one. i did managed some yoga after all that last night LOL just having a hard time getting some more in now b/c on top of more cake baking i am helping her haul stuff and set up today then its nearly an 8 hour sale tomorrow!! kassia Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
