Guest guest
Thank you for reassuring me, straight from the mouth of a farm girl, that farmers can raise animals ethically. My own experiences have been limited mainly to visits of commercial production facilities. High-volume producers probably incorporate into their operations the practice of culling male pullets and weaning calves early in order to raise profits. I need to switch to buying meat from local farmers. I already buy local milk because it is available at the grocery. I buy free-range eggs there, too, but I don't know if they are produced by the cruelty-free methods you describe. The best way to buy meat involves buying a freezer and contracting with a farmer. I should do that this spring.
