Guest guest
Subject: An intro and a howdy-do To: NaturalPerfumery-owner Date: Thursday, December 17, 2009, 12:35 PM Okay...ahem...let's see if I can do this without sticking my foot too far down my throat! Me: Mom, four anklebiters, great hubby who works his poor little fingers to the bone (figuratively) so I can stay home with them. A detailed telling of my path to natural perfumery would bore you to tears, so a quick summary: Grandma is one herby/natural cures lady, so it's in my blood, I became somewhat after a rather bad experience with my 4 mo. baby and several rounds of non effective antibiotics. One thing led to another and now my sisters and I work together to make our own body-care so we can decide what goes in it, fun and addicting! On the soaping forum that I frequent I " met " a woman who makes some incredible natural perfumes. After reading rave after rave for them I decided I had to try some myself. Now, we make some great smelling soaps using straight essential oil blends, but when I received those perfumes just... Wow. They were light-years ahead any blends we had created. I loved them! I had bought a few perfumes here and there over the years, but never just loved any. They would smell great out of bottle or on someone else, but drying down on me were always at best a disappointment and at worst I smelled just like my two year old when needing changed. Ugh. So I hadn't bought many. These, I love the way they smell out of bottle, and the entire days dry down. I would never think I have a natural " nose " talent, but I wonder if it was just the artificial-ness (did I just make that up?) of the commercial perfumes that I don't like. So I would love to try my hand at natural perfumery. From the email I received, " If you're a newbie, eager to learn, " that is me! I usually behave and don't act like a troll, but if I do just slap me silly to get my attention, tell me I am, and I promise I'll quit it! I'm sure I'll probably ask some seriously stupid questions, but I like to bury myself in the archives when I first am new to a forum and trying to learn something, so I hope I'll learn quickly enough to not sound like a complete ditz. Blonde I am, ditz I try my hardest not to be, (or at least I try to hide it). So looking forward to the adventure and hoping I haven't made you want to cry of boredom, Teri
