Guest guest
If you're new to BFL, you'll lose a lot of fat and gain a little muscle. You don't have much choice in the matter so you don't really have to worry about choosing one or the other. Once you've been at it for months or years, you're already pretty lean, and your body doesn't respond with that beginners enthusiasm anymore, then you have to choose your focus - a calorie deficit for fat loss, a calorie surplus for muscle gain, or a calorie zig-zag to try to maximize one and minimize or preserve the other. Generally, fat is the only " weight " that you want to be losing. Although, if you're bloated, it doesn't hurt to drop a few pounds of water weight. You do that by eating mainly lean protein and fresh fruits and vegetables and minimizing high-sodium foods and processed carbs. Here's an example: http://www.skwigg.com/id55.html > > I'm not clear with how to focus this challenge. Fat loss or weight > loss? Are there guidelines for each?
