so i decided to give one of my new pilates videos a shot tonite. this

is a good gentle session though. its focus is stretching with small

isometric like motions to engage spinal muscles to help with strength.

she also does some light twists for more stretching and some movements

like hip circles(which actually looks like leg circles except the knee

is bent parallel to floor and you use your knee, instead of foot, to

draw the circles in the ceiling). its a slow paced workout but moria

is very exact on form and breathing and takes the time to remind you

and help you set up properly for each exercise. its not a long workout

at about 27 minutes,so it really fits my schedule. this is described

as level 1(meaning beginner) but i see this as a very light workout

for back stretching for more inter/adv exerciser with stretch/strength

focus on the beginner exerciser. right afterwards my back felt so much

better. my back has been tight this week b/c i have either been

over-active at the park and walking or under active just sitting

around the house or driving. plus sitting in front of the computer has

not helped matters.

i am going to try to get a longer yoga workout in the morning. i

picked up yoga for urban living at the dollar store and it had 3

workouts on it. an am practice, a pm practice, and a longer one called

daily connection. i have done the shorter am/pm practices and its was

a very relaxing yoga session.if you live near a dollar tree i would

check and see if this video is there. they also had 2-3 hula girl

titles, tantric toning, and pilates for wimps. apparently some of the

natural journey titles were put in slim cases and shipped out to

dollar tree stores. so worth it, i might have paid more if i knew it

was that good.
