Guest guest
Last week my shin splints returned, but at the moment I only have pain in my left leg. As a result, I've stopped running and switched back to the bike for my cardio. Since I have one of those " all or nothing " type personalities, it's been a major setback for me. I find it difficult to replicate the same level of intensity on the bike and I can't get excited about the cross-trainer either. They are both a bit boring to me. I'm finding it a lot harder to stay focused now and just feel frustrated with my workouts in general. The frustration seems to have spilt over into other areas as well, such as, being less strict with my meals and portions. I also started thinking something like, well, I'm not gonna lose any more weight now and at least I'm better off than I was when I first started etc. It's just not good and I don't know how to regain the focus and drive I've had for most of my challenge. I've only got three and a half weeks until I finish my first challenge and I would really like to finish strongly. Any suggestions would be dearly welcome at this point. dea xx
Guest guest
Try a cycle class or two - I can near on guarantee you will pick up ways of pushing yourself as hard as you did when running. Take a yoga class. My gf suffers shin splints but has no issues when she takes a yoga class or more a week.
