Merrill,

Go back to yesterdays posts where I posted about Phrenic Nerve

involvement in CMT. Yes, most CMT sites don't mention this, but like I

said, everyone should be aware of it. You may want to read these links

http://www.hnf-cure.org/faq/faq.php?

Become knowledgeable about ALL the different ways CMT CAN affect

people. We are all different, as we know, but let your CMT 'education'

grow. I also recommended the booklets from HNF-cure.org that address

breathing.

Suffice to say, breathing difficulties may put a strain on ALL muscles,

the heart, lungs, etc. While the CMT sites say " lifespan is normal " ,

well, for most it is; however, complications from CMT might shorten it.

I am not wanting to scare anyone, I just hope people will realize ALL

the implications of CMT, not freak out, be aware, and get to a doc if

needed.

As an addendum to my post yesterday, my good friend from Nebraska,

passed away at age 54 - about 7 years ago. She too had CMT, with

complications from her heart and diaphragm. God bless her, she is the

one who listened to me about starting in the first place and

encouraged me to DO IT. She was one of our first members, along with

and Rick. Her breathing in the end was also complicated by

pneumonia. taught High School english as her career for about 30

years.

I have asked Dr. to give me his input on this whole Lifespan

issue and will post when I receive his answers.

Meanwhile, a healthy lifestyle is a most powerful health restorative.

Good food, good friends, low weight, if you smoke or drink, quit. We

really only have " one day at a time " , make it the best day you can.
