The mother of a local special-needs child has spoken of her horror

after she learned that a horrific video showing her son being beaten

is being passed around mobile phones in the city.

The video shows a sustained, four-minute attack on 11-year-old

Marley by one youth as another looks on and a third person films the

attack.

Throughout the sickening attack, can be heard tearfully

pleading with the unknown assailant to stop, but the youth continues

to kick, punch and stamp on .

's mum, McGaghey, said her son is now afraid to leave the

house.

" He is still very afraid, he is even afraid to go to school and I am

very concerned about him, " said , who added that she hoped that

by telling people how has been affected she can stop the video

being circulated.

" I just want to show people what happened to and what bullying

does to the victims.

" He is just so scared now that these boys will get hold of him

again. "

, who suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)

attends Clarawood Primary School in East Belfast where he receives

specialist education because of his condition. says he used to

love school but the attack has made him withdraw into himself.

" He used to be jumping to get there but if it involves leaving the

house now he is not interested. "

Despite the psychological trauma , confirmed he had no lasting

physical injuries. She says she is considering going to the PSNI

about the incident.

" It's just unbelievable that someone would record something like

this. You couldn't even watch it it is so shocking. It made me feel

sick. Nobody should be sending it to other phones, " she said.

Local MLA Fra McCann called on parents to ensure that their children

are not involved in such attacks.

" Any type of bullying is wrong, and coming from an area that has to

suffer from anti-social behaviour it is another problem that needs

to be dealt with. Given that the person involved in the attack is so

young himself it makes the situation a lot worse.

" I would call on the parents of those carrying out the attack to

take action to ensure that this behaviour is ended.

" There is an increase in young people suffering from depression in

this area and we have to do what we can to prevent this. I would

also appeal to anyone who is sent this clip to delete it

immediately. "
