Guest guest
Mandy Aftel's Essence and Alchemy was in high gear at Esalen in Big Sur, California this past weekend. The days were gloriously sunny with a glowing full moon at night. The smell of the evergreens mixed with the scents of Mandy's exotic oils made for an intoxicating miasma the whole three day event. Mandy brought out her perfumes to share while the 20 students in the room also sniffed the lovely oils she brought to mix our own perfume formulas. Everything from Bergamot to Blond Tobacco, Bois de Rose to Cocoa Absolute, and several I had never heard of, like Cepes(mushroom), Choya(burnt shells) and Costas (grass that smells like wet dog). What a rush! Sandy Messori Grower and distiller of fine oils and hydrosols Rivendell Aromatics rivendell7@... ************************** Sounds glorious!!! Love your phrase " intoxicating miasma " ...!!!!

I am still in process mode after all the activity from the weekend... LOTS of hours in workshop, fabulous fresh meals, mineral baths, massage, yoga and a lot of driving for me..I'm still exhaused!! Meeting Mandy was fabulous and she is a treasure for sure! She was 100% available for student inquiries and shared so much information. The perfume making went suprisingly smooth...and wonderful creations were made by all. Some good news is that Mandy will soon be offering her perfume training online and you can sign up for her newsletter for information on details of when that will start, etc. I feel truly invigorated in being part of the rich and exotic natural perfumery world! We really are doing good work. Ragna
