Guest guest
On a whim I ordered two oils from New Directions Aromatics, Cocoa absolute and Rosewood. Both were quite exquisite. They say " All of our essential oils are ethically produced and are free from pesticides or chemical fertilizers. " Has anyone dealt with them before? http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/ Warm Fragrant Regards, Sandy Messori, Rivendell Aromatics
Guest guest
They are cheap, unethical and will say anything to sell their products. Having said that I have bought from them sometimes, but only cheap essential oils that aren't worth adulterating when I was in a tight corner and needed something urgently (as their service is very quick and reliable admittedly). I have a series of samples of various so called essential oils they have sent me over the years....from " vanilla essential oil " that was merely a concentrated tincture to " Nag Champa essential oil " that is a blatant fragnance oil fake. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. Ambrosia
Guest guest
I have ordered from them frequently & have always been pleased with their products & I am very finicky with my ingredients. You can get msds on any product ordered. I have never had an inferior product & I am not a newcomer to the toiletry industry so trust me, I have run across some very, very inferior eo's & downright unethical sellers with diluting, calling an eo when you get it you know darn well that no eo had even touched that bottle . Everyone has their own opinion as the previous person does not like New Directions. My advice is to order & judge for yourself. Email or call first & voice your concerns. I have always had great customer service. They have even called me if they had a question on an order. Their Dead Sea Mud is awesome. I have ordered some of their powdered extracts & oils & butters & have been pleased also. Good luck & if you do order let us know your experience. I've been in the essential oil business for 20 years and have dealt with all of the Australian EO companies at various times, and as I said, I have done a fair bit of business with New Directions. And out here, I am not the only one who has had bad experiences with them. This is the link to their fake Nag Champa so called essential oil: https://shop.newdirections.com.au/epages/newdirections.sf/en_AU/?LastViewObjectI\ D=198800 & ViewAction=View & ChangeAction= & ShopURL=https%3A%2F%2Fshop.newdirections.\ com.au%2Fepages%2Fnewdirections.sf%2Fen_AU%2F & Quantity=1 & ChangeObjectID=216468 & x\ =64 & y=8 I don't know if the American company is more trustworthy....they have their Nag Champa listed under fragrance oils where it belongs it seems.... Anyone else in the States have experience with them? Ambrosia
Guest guest
Well here is a portion of their disclaimer that seems to be their way of escaping trouble >>>>>>>>>> As the availability of ingredients and raw materials is not always certain whether due to changes in nature or otherwise, New Directions Australia Pty Ltd reserves the right to substitute alternate ingredients/ raw materials in the manufacture of its products and bases in order to maintain supply to its customers. Customers should always refer to the ingredients label as affixed to each product or to specification sheets which are current at the time of supply of the product.<<<<<<<<<<< Too bad that those who do not have good experience with EO's would not be able to tell the difference. But I assume the moderator that did approve it probably just felt that your post made perfect sense without the additional verbiage.  Patty, NP Moderator Ganache for Lips http://www.ganacheforlips.com
Guest guest
I trimmed your post because there were huge gaps of perhaps 10 lines or more between the paragraphs, the time/day stamp, your name and a footer that I guess your mail program adds. In other words, you may write 20 lines, but it takes up the space of 80 or more lines, so it is trimmed. We don't have a lot of time to devote to moderating, so we do the best we can. Anybody can follow it in the thread view, so no continuity is lost. Guest guest
Too bad that those who do not have good experience with EO's would not be able to tell the difference. I may not have been making my products for 20 years, only 18 & I have not bought from the Australia company. But I do know the difference from a good eo & an adulterated eo & I have not had this problem with the US New Dir ections Aromatics. I would not even think of presuming that a person knows or does not know the difference about a good or bad eo - that is not my call to make or state. If you have bought eo's from Butch & some of the other high quality producers (I am not putting NDA in the same class by no means) & with some of the other companies that carry eo's you get the " nose " to pick up the differences. But what I am saying is that I have not had a bad experience with them yet as I have from other sellers over the 18+ years that I have been buying eo's. For the price their's is one of the better ones. I have bought their basil, & a few others. My lavender eo I buy from one seller exclusively so I am pretty particular on what I buy. But again, it is preference & like picking a doctor, dentist or hairstylist you will find someone that will love them or hate them. So, it is up to the individual to give it a try & go from there. And as far as their disclaimer, call & ask - how can you alter an eo? An eo should be strictly that - eo. Here is a link to their organic basil eo, you can see all of the info on it, & if you click on the disclaimer it does not say anything like was previously posted. _http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/basil-organic-essential-oil-french-p- 1277.html_ (http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/basil-organic-essential-oil-french-p-1277\ ..html) God Bless You & Yours, Georgia (hahagranny) ~~~God's answers are wiser than our prayers~~~ ~~~Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away~~~

The disclaimer copy that I posted was directly from the link that the previous poster had listed. I have purchased from the USA New Directions and have been happy with what I bought as well, but the disclaimer on the Aussie site would concern me. Guest guest
The disclaimer, from what I can work out, seems to be referring to ingredients they use in their base products such as creams etc, rather than their pure essential oils. That's what I get from it anyway.
Guest guest
Sandy, As a producer I'm surprised you have to ask.Look at the prices.Could you sell Organic Lavender EO for 1/2 oz $5.88 If it's too good to be true, what is it? Rick
