Guest guest
No wonder you are having problems, Helen. You've had RA for 20 years and been on MTX for 16. Your immune system is badly impaired - certainly in no condition to go through the trauma of surgery further impairing it. Then four weeks later you go through surgery again with it's accompanying trauma - further impairing that system and then you had surgery again in April. No wonder you can't get well. You need to work on getting that body in shape before you go through another surgery. Also, next time insist your doctor give you continuous vitamin IVs (lots of C, B's, potassium and magnesium) before and after surgery. Vitamin E on wounds speeds healing. About a year ago our local hospital sponsored some meetings on health issues. I noticed a well known cardiologist was speaking at one of the meetings and I knew he used alternative methods so my friend and I went to hear him. The first thing he did was to thank the hospital for inviting him to speak. He said, " If they knew what I was going to talk about they would never have invited me. " During the course of his talk he mentioned that he had finally got permission from the hospital to give his surgery patients vitamin IVs and that made a big difference in the speed of their recovery. If you have a good health food store in your area, you might want to contact them and ask them to recommend a good alternative physician who could help you build up your immune system and whatever else needs to be done. Guest guest
Ehel - I have a question of IV vitamins. My doctor has indicated that C & E are readily absorbed by the gut and there is no need for IV's. One should just up the amounts. On C, I was told to up it until I got to the point of diarrhea and then back off a little. Can you tell me the benefit of IV's? Thank you. Guest guest
Larger amounts can be given via IV and they go directly into the bloodstream. Guest guest
If I was you, I would probably do another round of chelation and use either ALA or DMSA, but not both (to see whether one of them doesn't agree with you. My daughter doesn't do well on DMSA). I would use either 25 mg or less for each dose. If you use ALA, I would also supplement Biotin and pantothenic acid. Dagmar. [ ] I NEED HELP! I NEED HELP! Hi, I have run into a problem I can't handle. I've done 21 chelations rounds in a 2 years span using Andy's protocol (dosages 25-50mg ALA + 25mg DMSA) and now I feel really exhausted. My last chelation was December 6 2004 and I have a lot of problems that won't go away since then. I'm really scared because I can't eat properly and I can't afford to lose more weight. Here's what I CAN'T eat: Milk products, Gluten products, Sugar, Nuts, Almonds, Sulphur foods, Yeasts foods, Oils of any kind. I also have problems digesting fats and proteins. This is a nightmare. I re-read part of Andy's book and I think my problem is lack of cortisol but I can be wrong. Doctors here say I'm crazy and want me on anti-depressors. I live in Canada and I would REALLY like to legally get some hydrocortisone without a prescription. I know about creams and ointments but they contain things that I don't know if they are edible like " white petrolatum " . Did anyone tried to eat hydrocortisone ointment? And for how long? My chelation was going good but now I'm in deep trouble, I feel like I'm gonna die. ph =======================================================

Guest guest
Hi , Has anyone (you or Aetna) put any money toward the helmet yet? If not, than I don't see why you wouldn't be able to cancel. I'm sure Hanger won't be too happy if they've already ordered the helmet though. I didn't realize your daughter was almost a year--does the Hanger ortho have experience treating older babies with plagio? Did they show you any before and after pics? I know you probably interviewed the Hanger ortho well and I remember you really liking him/her, but of course there is more to the equation than that. It is entirely your decision, but I'd be pretty ticked at Aetna right now! I'm sure if you really want to go to CT bad enough and you have any documentation of them telling you that CT is out of network than you'd have a good case to cancel Hanger even if they have already paid. Good luck with your decision. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com > Hello! > > I hope everyone is having a good day and had a great weekend! > > Just to update a little bit on what has been going on.... Guest guest
Nobody has put money towards the helmet yet. I didn't see any before and after pictures, only those posted on this site. I am VERY ticked at Aetna!! I feel so frustrated, no mad at Aetna. I just can't believe that they told me, yes you can go to CT, I go to CT and then they said NO you can't go to CT. NOW that I am questioning their decision... Oh, YES you can go to CT! AAHHHH!!!!!!!!! Anyways... I'm worried though if I go to CT, I'll probably lose 3 weeks of banding time. Do you think those 3 weeks will matter that much if I do go to CT? Thanks, --- <sarahhollis@...> wrote: > Hi , > Has anyone (you or Aetna) put any money toward the > helmet yet? Guest guest
I'm so sorry about the confusion/mess up with the Insurance. I know that you did really want to go to CT. I'd say though that if you are confidant with Hanger, I'd just stay with them and I'm sure that you will be very pleased. In the end you may still pay less out of pocket with Hanger since their band is a little cheaper, though I don't know how much your Ins will pay... plus when it comes to your babies head, $ isn't the most important issue anyway. Do what your heart tells you to do. Guest guest
My 4 month appeal to have Anthem Blue Cross cover Provigil to treat my CMT fatigue was finally denied by the Virginia State Corporation Commission. I knew it was coming, but was a bit bummed when the letter arrived -- 7:00PM via courier. The next day I saw a report in my local paper stating that Provigil was being tested through a $10.8 million NIH grant as a cure for cocaine addiction! All I wanted the drug for was to allow me to keep working and not be forced on SSD. I decided my fight for Provigil needed to take another tack. I visited my congressman (He is local) and asked him to make the entire US Formulary available for those diagnosed with orphan diseases regardless if the medication is on-label. In the US, an orphan disease is defined as one that affects fewer that 200,000 Americans. NIH states there are more than 6,000 diseases affecting 25 million people. If we can get a regulation enacted, the do-si-do that managed care providers put us through to obtain needed medication would be history. If you agree, lobby your congressman for this relief. If you need statistics and a model letter, email me and I'll give you what I have. -- Larry
Guest guest
Hi Larry, Have you thought about contacting the company that makes Provigil to see if they have a " Patient Assistance Program " ? If you qualify, you could get your meds for free. {Gretchen gave me this idea} If you check and dont qualify, maybe you could check on getting them from Canada. I found www.discountdrugsfromcanada.com today. They have it for a great price compared to here. Our local news keeps featuring stories about people in Virginia doing this. They always have positive things to say. I know this is not a long-term answer, but maybe it could help a little for now. One other thing......Is the lotion still burning? I hope not. Guest guest
Talk about rejection! I tried twice with no, nichts, nada, nil response, and I am a STOCKHOLDER! Three days before my rejection letter arrived I get a buy confirmation from my broker that he bought Cephalon for me! AAARRRGGGHHH! As to the feet, yes, they feel better. Thanks for asking. -- LArry > > Hi Larry, > > Have you thought about contacting the company that makes Provigil to see if they have a " Patient Assistance Program " ?
