Guest guest
Hey all, Wow, where to start...get ready, this will be a long one (I'll try to keep the whining down). Well, I've always been a heavier kid with parents that have ALWAYS worried about my weight more than their own. I got very interested in fitness and nutrition and even got a university degree with minors in fitness and nutrition, then my thyroid decided that it hated me and I gained 35 pounds in a month and a half. Over the last 7 years since I have gained and lost so much weight it's just rediculous. I have sub-acute hypothyroidism, which basically means that it comes and goes depending on my stress level. Isn't that great? (notice sarcasm dripping) I have managed to get off the medicine and use meditation, yoga and deep breathing to control the stress, the weight, however has done nothing. I was able to lose 30 pounds with BFL when it first came out (and ephedra was still on the market). I again had a thyroid episode and have gained a ridiculous amount of weight in a short amount of time and am the heaviest I've ever been (not including last pregnancy). I need to lose about 100 pounds now and am sadly in pretty good shape. I can lift heavier weights than most of my " fit " friends and spend more time on the treadmill and doing other cardio than most of them do. It's just sad. My diet does need to be overhauled. I gave up because it didn't matter how clean or terrible my diet was, the weight didn't change. I just want to feel better. I am still nursing my son (for about a month more) and then I was hoping to take a good supplement if anyone has any suggestions. I also just need a good support system. My family is wonderful, but I've found that my fit friends are too concerned with their own weight and don't want to " share " diet info. I'm sure you all know them. *grin* I get the daily digest so I won't get posts until the next day, just so that people know I'm not being rude by not replying right away! I'm excited about this group and can't wait to get going! Yvette
