(sorry!) getting poo out of carpet

My husband just found a HUGE puddle of diahhreah that came out of 's nappy today and soaked our white (I know, it's stupid) carpet. He wiped it up as best he could with baby wipes. Does anyone know what is the best treatment to get the smell/stain out?

Poor , he had poo up his bag and on his socks but I didn't realise it had actually leaked out into a puddle. I'm not sure how I missed that one, this is a first!

Thanks for any advice, I really don't want a huge poo puddle stain reminding me of this hell everyday.
