What is the best way to work with this material when measuring how much you want in a composition? Should I put it all in a mortar and smash it into a power or paste? > Not to add to your complex issue here, but what is the " irones " % and what is your supplier? If you are impressed by the quality I'd like to add this to my (supply) list...and I'm eager to see if any of the professionals recommend anything other than adding it to alcohol and letting it steep for a while. Thanks, AG The irones % is 8. So it is not 15 like Orris Butter but not 3% or 1% like I've seen in other places. I got the sample from D Walsh and it is Iris Florentina. I do like it's woody scent but I've also tried Orris Butter with 15% irones (Iris Pallida) and I believe it to be better but much harder to find.
