Guest guest
Kay, I am under watch as well to report back in August with a weight loss and another bloodwork test to see if I'd lowered both total score of cholesterol (202) and lowered the bad LDL (which was elevated 20 pts. from a year ago. I will not take the statin drugs, like you, as on our toxic drug list with MDA. I am taking garlic with a high allicin count in it for potency and Omega 3s. However, the Omega 3s are 1,000 mgs. each and two a day, which makes going to the bathroom easier for me, but messier (sorry for being graphic, used to have opposite problem). Doctor said if I'd just lose weight the scores would lower. I'm drinking Fiji water or any bottled water instead of Diet Cokes Caffenine Free. I'm ordering a book called Before, During and After - it's been reprinted and a man lost 70 lbs. by just adding water to his diet. I guess from title is a glass before a meal, during, and after. I am retaining water it seems. I haven't received book yet, but my friends say that the reason I'm retaining is I haven't reached my maximum level to break the barrier and start the releasing of fluid. I'm working my way up in ounces. I'm not sure but maybe the book will reveal how much to drink, but I was told half your weight in ounces. We'll see. If we add or drink apple or grapefruit pectin (powdered in health food store), whole grains, oatmeal and bran, flaxseed added to salads, beans and legumes, avodacos, walnuts, almonds, light olive oil, reduce dairy to low fat or fat free dairy and cut red meats to once a week, take supplements above, we can lower scores on our own. I do great when I'm alone....but when is home is when I put my guard down and say " what's for dinner or where are we going for dinner " - it's my time with him before he gets involved with class assignments, etc. Now, if I can just do it at night and on the weekends. I don't feel like I'll make any progress until I do everything routinely every single day; but at least I'm trying and it's really hard. I guess I don't want to look like a melting woman with all that loose skin, etc., so that is not much of a motivation, I'd rather have all the wrinkles stretch out! but not healthy. Doctor said that's why you don't see large grey haired old people. Donna B.
