Guest guest
So here I am pretty much 5 weeks into my challenge and I've had my first " whoosh " as I have heard it called here on the board. Where you wait and wait and finally the scale goes down. Now I'm at that place again where the scale is sticking at the same weight and I'm just contemplating what is really going on. The first few weeks I suppose my body is adjusting to the food and new routine and swapping muscle for fat. I am remembering that I heard somewhere that a pound of fat is approximately the size of a softball whereas a pound of muscle is approximately the size of a baseball. Soooo if this is happening to my body, I'm losing inches, but not pounds. Eventually, around week 4 it seems I hear a lot of people say, they notice a difference and some scale weight. I guess this is where the power of the muscle starts firing up the metabolism and makes the scale weight drop. Also, my squirly little electronic bf monitor says I am losing bodyfat. So, now here I am at that point and the scale is stuck again. I'm trying to remind myself that I'm probably going to hover here for a week or so before theres another real drop in scale weight and not get discouraged. " Just keep doing the next right thing. There is no TRY. There is only DO! Be persistent and consistent. Quitting is not an option! " This is my mantra Whats going on is that I am loosing bodyfat and building muscle, then the scale is going to drop. patience patience patience. " Just keep doing the next right thing. There is no TRY. There is only DO! Be persistent and consistent. Quitting is not an option! " Deanna (Yes, I know that the scale is a bad indicator of progress, but it is ONE that I have used everyday along with how my clothes fit, a tape measure, and bodyfat measurement) Attention: This e-mail and any files transmitted with it from Hatch Mott Mac are confidential and intended solely for use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
