Guest guest
My opinion....you need to cut the mochas out. I know how good they are, but they have way too much sugar in them. And 6 days a week? Yikes. You think you are compromising because you aren't taking a free day...but think of it this way...would you drink 6 of them in one day, if you DID take a free day? Anyhoo....most people would advise you to TAKE A FREE DAY. I used to make deals with myself like, " i'll just have one handful of Combos " , or " i'll just have IC Mochas 3 days a week " ...this is all sabotaging you. Anything and everything that you want to " cheat " with during the week (candy, mochas, etc)..save them for that one free day. #1, that is the day that you are allowed to have anything you want, and #2...i'm betting you won't want a ton of candy and 6 mochas on your free day. Once you eat totally clean for 6 days a week for a couple of weeks, you will be so proud of yourself, and you'll look forward to your free day, (I am currently looking forward to some pancakes and hashbrowns on Saturday). You have to really put yourself into this in order to get the results that you want. Half-assed effort will get half-assed results. " Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels " . You CAN do this! It's 95% mental. Just set your mind to it. Take it one meal at a time, one day at a time, and in six short days, you can have those mochas and that candy. Pretty lengthy blabbering for it being my humble opinion. Good luck! And you can DO IT!! Kim J. > > I think I have decided that I must really be serious about loosing > my " tire man " figure. Guest guest
BJ, I'm right there with you. I have am a serious Starbucks junkie. My typical is Venti, sugar free, fat free, vanilla latte, 5 days per week. I have gotten it down to a Grande, Sugar Free, Fat Free Soy Latte (soy has a little bit more protein - or that's what I tell myself). Anyway, I am down to 1/week. Don't worry, it will come. You are right, baby steps. I don't think that it is too terribly bad, but could be replaced with a coffee protien shake. Just use coffee to replace the milk or water. I make the coffee really strong, but it isn't half bad. Brett PS I am an Idaho girl as well. Born and raised. > > I think I have decided that I must really be serious about loosing > my " tire man " figure. I have a TERRIBLE sweet tooth and I am a > horder. Guest guest
Kim, " Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels. " I love it. I am going to use that every time I have a craving. Thank you!!! Brett > > > > I think I have decided that I must really be serious about loosing > > my " tire man " figure. I have a TERRIBLE sweet tooth and I am a > > horder. Guest guest
You sound serious to me, especially the story with the candy. I was digging through a bag last night looking for a piece of gum I might have missed....it's MY MIND that I am missing. I am a huge winer right now. I want to think that I have an excuse for backing out on my start date, now that I blew the first try at it. But now I am looking at myself a little harder, after reading everyone's posts. I had no idea that an email group could actually motivate me. Welcome to the 21st century. All of my excuses are flying in my face. I am starting to actually become amused at all of this. I mean, it used to be so easy, because I was young and had no committments. So, what? So, I have even more reasons to want to old bod to work FOR ME instead of AGAINST ME. I mean, what the heck better to I have to do with my life than live it as well as possible? And as for having any suggestions, I'm impressed that you can regulate yourself enough to not have to take a free day. I have to have a day off OR I WILL DIE! > > I think I have decided that I must really be serious about loosing > my " tire man " figure. I have a TERRIBLE sweet tooth and I am a > horder. Guest guest
I find its difficult for me to give up some habits unless I replace it with something else. Maybe you could replace it with a ff or low fat latte with a lot of splenda and some cocao on top or sf flavored syrup. Sometimes, theres just no alternative that satisfies us like that bad habit that we have and we just have to QUIT. Its hard at first, but if you want results bad enough, you have to cut this one out. Its not like the person who puts a little creamer in there coffee. This habit is going to cost you results. Thats the fact. Its your choice. Deanna PS...if you cut out these bad things you eat daily, you will find that you will savor them and they will taste sooo much better when you get to have them. Its a very different experience when its a treat. It's all about baby steps I think I have decided that I must really be serious about loosing my " tire man " figure. I have a TERRIBLE sweet tooth and I am a horder. We keep a candy dish here at work that is SUPPOSED to be for the customers, but we all dip into it, especially when there is chocolate involved. So, I have always taken a piece here and there, and put it in my drawer for later. Well, it has gotten to the point that a small child could live for a week off of the candy I had stashed in there. So, I took it all out and gave it to all the others in the office The only munchy food I have in that drawer is some Special K protein bars for emergancies! That is a prety big step for me. Now I am down to 1 more habit that I probably should quit, but am not sure if I want to. I am hooked on blended mochas from our local coffee house. I think they are " sorta " healthy to a point. All it contains is: lowfat choc milk, ice, frapp powder and a shot of espresso. I don't get the whipped cream and sauces on it. And I drink water along with it. What do y'all think? I have weaned myself down to only getting them 6 days a week instead of 7 (I know, bad BJ) I also count them as a " freebie " as I don't take a free day. Thoughts, suggestions? Kick in the butt. All is welcome.
