Guest guest Posted December 28, 2006 Report Share Posted December 28, 2006 I've tried taking creatine (Betagen) for one week back in April but I had an issue with it: it makes me INSANELY thirsty! I'm naturally thirsty 24/7 and can easily drink 1 gallon of water on a freezing cold day that I spend laying around (i.e. no water loss from sweat or anything) so on a workout day when I do actually sweat or on a super hot day (which are common down here in FL) I come very close to 2 gallons of water without trying, that's just to quench my own thirst. The week that I tried taking one scoop of Betagen per day after each of my workouts (so only 6 days a week) I could not keep up with my body's water demands! I drank about 3-4 gallons per day (I know because I drink out of a one quart water bottle so I just track how many times I had to refill it) and was STILL thirsty! And peeing my brains out! I couldn't live like that so I stopped taking the creatine. My problem is that I'd really love to take Betagen so I could see the increases in strength and have quicker muscle repair, so I was just wondering if anyone else had an experience like mine or if this unquenchable thirst is normal and goes away after a certain amount of time or if people remain thirstier than usual the entire time they take creatine.
