You go, Zena! I did my cardio tonight and strangely, it felt like a relief to " just do cardio " . LOL This morning my legs weren't sore at all from the first LBWO yesterday, but now? OUCH! Oh well, no pain, no gain - right? UBWO tomorrow, after I visit the chiropractor for an adjustment (helps my migraines and my neck has been really tight for awhile now) I've eaten clean all day again. I probably needed a little more protein, but I'm working it out. I didn't have enough veggies either. I had a migraine most of the day and just didn't feel like preparing much at all. But I did get my 6 meals in, small ones, but still ate them. I tried something new tonight, that Bill talked about in the book - mixing cottage cheese with low-fat flavored yogurt and Splenda. OMG, it was so good! I don't like cottage cheese that much, or yogurt, but together it was great - who knew??? Any other good combos for cottage cheese? I think that'll help me get enough protein all day if I can mix it up with other stuff. I already know about adding it to smoothies. Any other good BfL " recipes " for cottage cheese? Guest guest
Hey Melinda Yes, it was a relief to do just cardio today and yes OUCH is right LOL Funny thing is right leg is more sore than the left leg!! Odd! I HATE cottage cheese, just don't like the texture or the taste but . . . I'm trying new things so I ventured into the world of cottage cheese and the ONLY way I can eat it is mixing it with sliced up banana - that is pretty yummy. My mum said mixing mandarin oranges in with it is good too, but those pieces aren't as large as banana slices LOL I will check out the site someone posted for more ideas that I might be able to eat, I know cottage cheese is so good for you. I think I'm able to stay with this plan because it's so good - the food is fun, I'm enjoying myself, not eating boring rabbit food all the time LOL Oh, and Tuesday night I made the coleslaw, I thought my mum was going to pass out when she saw ME eating it - I made it, I know what went into it and it was GOOD!!! And this morning I had the fortified French toast - oh yummy!!!! I'm actually enjoying food again and feel like I'm cheating LOL I LOVE THIS LIFE STYLE!! Zena Zena Myall LBWO - oh my! > > > > > > > > Ok, I survived my first official BfL lower body work out. Guest guest
I usually stir cottage cheese together with fruit and nuts and splenda (or sweetener of your choice). Try cottage cheese, pineapple, mandarin oranges, and crushed macadamia nuts. Or cottage cheese, uncooked oats, frozen blueberries, and raw almonds. Or cottage cheese, blueberries, raspberries and crushed macadamia nuts. Or, here's Raylene's Jello recipe. You don't have to do the fruit and protein powder every time. You can just blend the cottage cheese smooth, mix it with the sugar free jello (dissolve and prepare the jello according to package directions), pour it into individual containers and let it chill. Then you have protein portions that taste like orange, lime or cherry instead of plain icky cottage cheese. Raylene's Jello 1 packet Sugar Free Jello - Your favorite flavor 2 cups low- or no-fat cottage cheese 1 serving of vanilla protein powder 1 can or about 2 servings of fresh fruit Blend cottage cheese and protein powder together in the blender. While it blends, boil one cup of water and If your fruit is canned, drain and run under water to rinse off excess sugars. Divide the fruit between 4 containers (I use the glad throwaway containers - they are just the right size). When water boils add it to jello and dissolve. Slowly add the jello to cottage cheese/protein powder mixture and let the blender run for about a minute. Pour the cottage cheese mixture evenly between the 4 containers. Chill for 4 or more hours. Add a dollop of Redi-whip to the top and enjoy (real whipped cream, come on - it's only 20 calories, 2g fat, less than 1 carb). It's SO SO SO good and I can't even explain it. It's like mousse with little bits of nirvana in it. I do this with: - Orange Jello & Mandarin Orange Slices - Lime jello and crushed pineapple - strawberry jello and peaches - cranberry jello & fresh raspberries For a real treat add 2/3 cups of strawberries to the cottage cheese mixture along with the jello and pour over fresh strawberries. *Nutritional Breakdown* About 160 calories 16g carbs, 16g protein, 3g fat. > > Any other good combos for cottage cheese? Guest guest
Thanks everyone! So , doesn't the hot jello mixture make the cottage cheese ....well, I guess it's already curdled... LOL Or do you let it cool some before adding to the cheese?? Skwigg wrote: > > I usually stir cottage cheese together with fruit and nuts and splenda (or > sweetener of your choice). Guest guest
It seems like there are instructions to add ice cold water to the boiling water after the powder dissolves. I use really cold water with a couple of small ice cubes in it. They melt immediately and cool things down quickly. By the time you mix it with the cottage cheese, the liquid isn't very hot. I pour it straight into the blender with the already blended smooth cottage cheese. Then I pour the final mixture into individual tupperware containers and chill it. > > Thanks everyone!
