Guest guest
You don't have to drink the shakes, they're a matter on convenience. Actually whole foods are better for you anyway. I don't particularly like myoplex, but I do like making my own shakes out of frozen fruit, vanilla protein powder, and udo's or flax oil. I've never had or looked into the protein water. Guest guest
I looked at the protein water yesterday. It only has 5g of protein, and it's pretty expensive - for water. I personally didn't think it was worth it. YMMV. I like the Myoplex lite shakes. I haven't tried the regular ones. BFL without shakes? So I tried my first myoplex shake a couple days ago, the original chocolate fudge flavor, and sorry but blech! I couldn't drink that thing down! The texture of it was just too slimy for me, anyone else have success on the BFL diet without ever drinking the shakes? Also has anyone tried the Special K " protein water " ? It sounds odd but I'm wondering if it tastes pretty much like water and would count as protein, why not?
Guest guest
I personally have hated all the shakes I have tried. I don't use shakes at all. I have a protein bar occasionally and only CC if it is cooked. My protein comes from mostly eggs, eggs and more eggs, cheese and all types of lean meat. Re: BFL without shakes? Guest guest
Here are some Myoplex Tips: http://www.skwigg.com/id25.html Chocolate Myoplex isn't my favorite flavor but you can definitely fix them up by adjusting the amount of water and ice, adding some frozen cherries or banana chunks, or even a little peanut butter or sugar free butterscotch pudding mix. You really don't need the shakes at all. Lots of people never use them. Whole food meals are actually better if you have time to prepare them. The shakes are just a convenience. Special K Protein water is tasty, but it counts as water and not protein. It only has like 5g and you're looking for more like 20-25g per meal. You'd still need a protein and a carb with it. > > So I tried my first myoplex shake a couple days ago, the original > chocolate fudge flavor, and sorry but blech! I couldn't drink that > thing down! Guest guest
Have you tried the protein shake powder with some of the receipes in the Eating for Life Book? I'm sure BFL book has some too. I tried the chocolate pudding mix and found it to be really yummy, although my consistency was more like a shake than a pudding, I felt like I was being bad because I was " eating it " out of a bowl LOL That will take some playing with. But the pina colada receipe is YUMMY - with vanilla protein powder. Also, mixing it in a blender helps beak up the powder, I found that out a long time ago, when I first started on my weight loss adventure 4 years ago I started out with Herbalife, and they give you this shaking cup that is supposed to help break up the powder in the water but BLEAH!!! they were NASTY!! Needless to say THAT didn't last long. Now I mix it up in the blender, the best thing is the magic bullet if you are making just the one serving, I'm usually making 2 so make it in the blender. Guest guest
So the " pudding " that you're talking about is this just myoplex blended with less water or sugarfree jello pudding with myoplex in it? The jello with myoplex actually sounds pretty good, so how much myoplex exactly to jello? I am soooo not good at cooking, anything without specific directions has proven disaster for me > > > > So I tried my first myoplex shake a couple days ago, the original > > chocolate fudge flavor, and sorry but blech! Guest guest
I dumped some chocolate protein powder into a sugar free chocolate pudding mix the other day. It was so chocolately delicious. My teenager finished it off. Best Regards, beth Re: BFL without shakes? Guest guest
I just made the pudding tonight. I used one packet of Chocolate Myoplex lite, 1 cup of skim milk and 2 tbs of chococlate pudding, put it in a blender until it's creamy and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Top it off with berrries and a scoop of fat free cool whip, you will love it! I make this as my 6th meal of the day. Enjoy! Janet --------- Re: BFL without shakes? Guest guest
How do you get the pudding to " set " - I tried this earlier this week and it never set, tasted good, but was more like a milkshake than pudding! I was a little dissapointed, but loved the taste! Should I just play with it and add more pudding until I get it right?? LOL Zena ---- crabbyj3@... wrote: > I just made the pudding tonight. Guest guest
I used a whole package of pudding, and enough protein powder for two servings. I'm not a pudding expert though. : ) Best Regards, beth Re: BFL without shakes? > > So the " pudding " that you're talking about is this just myoplex > blended with less water or sugarfree jello pudding with myoplex in it? > The jello with myoplex actually sounds pretty good, so how much > myoplex exactly to jello? Guest guest
Hi! I did the BFL program without any shakes (or Myoplex or any EAS products. I used Whole foods and Balance Bars instead..... I lost 37 lbs. in the 12 weeks, and cut my marathon time by 46 minutes! Anyways, I'm not a fan of the shakes because I like the texture of real food in my mouth.... The pudding Myoplex mix sounds great though! I may just have to get some myoplex this time around! > > > > > > So I tried my first myoplex shake a couple days ago, the original > > > chocolate fudge flavor, and sorry but blech!
