Guest guest
Hi , Yes, you're right. Or rather your doctor is, lol. A lower body weight is recommended for persons with CMT and will help you stay on your feet. As you know, Greg , MD, and CMT expert has recommended following a 'heart-healthy' diet: check into the American Heart Association for this. a weight loss of 2 lbs a week is considered good and 'normal' when combined with diet and exercise. Anything more, like a severe drop in weight, can cause too much stress on internal organs like the heart. Here's another suggestion for those wishing to loose weight: I recommend OA meetings on-line. http://www.oa.org/online_meetings.html Females, as we age, tend to gain weight. I have had to pay strict attention to reading caloric content of foods, changing what I eat and when, adding more exercise, re-hydrating with water, etc. But it all works beautifully. Still on my feet:) ~ Gretchen
