Guest guest
I dropped the weight over 6 months with each of my kids (and gained a good 40 with each!).....I find, that with a muscled tummy, I still have loose skin....but you know what? It doesn't look bad, check out the TJ lady, Chalene , she's had kids, you can tell and still looks great....I look at it as remembering one of the happiest times of my life and makes me feel part of the female tribe or something....so if you're fit and like batman otherwise.....celebrate that you've given birth too, and don't sweat some skin in your bikini!!!! Guest guest
It depends a bit on genetics and where you carry your weight, but most women need to have a percentage of body fat in the mid to low teens to see sharp ab definition (3 vertical lines) and in the single digits to see a six pack (horizontal + vertical lines). So it's possible that with a little more fat loss you'll still see the results you want. You may not have any scale weight left to lose though. Now it's all about body composition, building lean muscle, speeding up your metabolism, and getting " thinner skinned " so to speak. Guest guest
I've had 4 kids and I have a bigger belly than I did before...but I had a very flat one b/f kids. I don't feel it appropriate for me to wear a bikini, so I don't worry about the tummy much. But, what really helped flatten my belly after the first one was doing upright leg raises. I even did them while I was pregnant. And my belly flattened out in no time. I have gotten lazier since then and have let it go a bit, figuring that I would catch up later. But now IS later. I've got to DO SOMETHING! So, congrats on your weight loss. Sounds like you are doing great. Your committment helps me to want to get off of my (ever increasing in size) butt. Cori Does the baby belly ever go away! This is my first post, but it is a question I am dying to have answered. My boyfriend and I completed our first challenge on December 4th, I ended up at 19% bodyfat, and went from a size 8 to a size 4 - which at almost 6 feet tall made me quite pleased! What I am not too pleased about is the results in my stomach. I have had a baby, but almost six years ago and thought my stomach would look better than it did after the first challenge. We started our second challenge yesterday, and my goal is to get down to around 15-16% BF to see if that will really bring out my abs. I guess my question is if it is still fat my body is hanging on to in that area, or if it is loose skin that will never go back to its original shape. Guest guest
Don't give up. It took nine months for mine to go away, and my kids weighed a few ounces shy of nine pounds. Plus I was 38 at the time. I gained 40 pounds with the pregnancies. I threw out a whole wardrobe of great clothes after four months thinking I'd never fit into them. What a dumb thing to do. Don't throw anything away. What I thought was loose skin was actually just really lumpy kind of mobilized fat lurking just beneath the surface. It took a while but after that fat was gone the skin remained tight. Don't give up. Stasia
Guest guest
Makes me wonder how they did it on the Biggest Loser program! Do supplements help loose skin? Tom Venuto didn't mention that. Guest guest
It can take up to 2 years for your skin to shrink back to where it should be after losing weight or having a baby. Whatever is still there after 2 year you could basically say you are stuck with. The more training you do, the more water you drink, the more EFA's you have in your diet the better your chance of skin elasticity. Good luck I can imagine it would be so frustrating. Guest guest
He didn't mention supplements helping loose skin because they don't. :-) Well maybe except for lots of water, healthy fats, and a good moisturizer. > > Makes me wonder how they did it on the Biggest Loser program!
