Guest guest
I think it all depends on where you live and how good your tap water is. Instead of buying bottled water you could buy one of those water filter pitchers to keep in the fridge. It ends up being much cheaper than buying water all the time. --------------------------------- Check out the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. Guest guest
ville has horrible tap water, as evidenced by the calcium deposits caught in the little faucet screen. I'm hooked on buying cases of the individual bottled water. Why you may ask? Because the kids will drink it. I can buy the gallon jugs, and they will sit in the fridge. I can buy a case of 24 individual bottles, and my daughter alone will drink 4-5 a day. She is getting her 8 glasses of water for sure! It is hilarious. She " hoards " water in her room. There are bottles everywhere. deb Kenya wrote: > > I think it all depends on where you live and how good your tap water > is. Guest guest
I have two complaints about bottled water - even though I use it on occassion. (1) Often it is JUST tapwater bottled at whatever town its bottled in. This doesnt mean their tap water is any better than yours. (2) Any exposure of those bottles, once bottled, to temps over 80 degrees, cause the plastics to release xenoestrogens (fake estrogens) into the water, that we in turn drink. These so called environmental estrogens compete with regular estrogens in the body with dangerous side effects. They also produce estrogen effects in men and boys. Just a thought. Same applies to all bottled drinks. - > > ville has horrible tap water, as evidenced by the calcium > deposits caught in the little faucet screen. > > >
Guest guest
I drink tap too. I dont like the taste of bottled water. I dont know that I will change though. Im sure tap water is still better than diet soda or other liquids. Deanna Bottled or tap water? Guest guest
I drink tap water - ours isn't too bad. It was just getting TOO expensive buying cases of bottled, since the whole family has started drinking more water - even the kids. (it helps that mom doesn't buy sodas anymore ~wink~) Sometimes I'll get the Walmart brand of sparkling, flavored, zero-calorie waters for my daughter - since she doesn't like plain water. Usually, though, we just use tap water and I get flavor packets for her. Deanna Metts wrote: > > I drink tap too. I dont like the taste of bottled water. > I dont know that I will change though. Guest guest
When I lived in Seattle, I drank the tap water and loved it. Here in s. Ca., it tastes AWFUL--like drinking swimming pool water. I run it through the fancy filter on the refrigerator and it tastes fine and filters out any ickies. Best Regards, beth Re: Bottled or tap water? I drink tap water - ours isn't too bad. Guest guest
Not a dumb question at all. Boiled water is NOT the same as distilled. If you boil stream or river water it's to kill any living organisms, bacteria and the like, which is good! If you boil tap water what happens is you boil off pure water (steam) and keep a more concentrated amount of the hard chemicals and heavy metals that are in the water supply. Distilling keeps the steam and discards the stuff that remains in the " kettle " . Hope this helps. Long term cheapest option is to buy yourself a carbon filter. Over the years it's WAY cheaper than bottled water and tastes nicer than tap, altho i'm drinking tap at the moment. > > > > Interesting water article... > > http://bodybuilding.com/fun/weik46.htm > > > > Deanna > > > > > > Bottled or tap water? > > > > Does it make a difference? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > _____________________________________________________________________ > _______________ > > TV dinner still cooling? > > Check out " Tonight's Picks " on Yahoo! Guest guest
I use one of those brita filters at home, and keep it full on the counter. Contrary to what I've read about cold water being better, my acupuncturist said that room temperature is best as it doesn't shock the system (or something like that)... oh yeah, and that includes stuff like ice cream. (Which I've abstained from for the last 8 + weeks). At work, we have one of the water coolers, so I drink that all day... fill up my water bottle and then fill my glass with the water bottle... so, my goal is at least 2 water bottles a day (8 cups) - but I usually go over. > > Not a dumb question at all.
